Thomas was feeling really low and three of the sides decided it might be a good idea to leave Roman out of finding a way to lift Thomas's spirits. After some thinking, Patton agreed with the idea that Roman was likely feeling low as well, but Virgil and Logan decided it might not be best for Thomas to have such highly hopeful expectations on his mind only for other factors to make things come crashing down on him again and keep him in a more severe slump. Roman has tried many times to help the rest of the group, but they wouldn't budge. He knew everyone was with Thomas, so he decided to put on his favorite pink and black leotard and pink ribbon before waving his arm to put on a song he has grown to enjoy loud enough for Thomas to hear.
While Patton tried comforting Thomas and Logan and Virgil were trying to warn him of the consequences of being stuck in his slump long term, Thomas found himself humming a tune unfamiliar to everyone else including himself. Logan and Virgil looked at each other feeling annoyed.
"Must be Roman's doing," Virgil told him.
"I guess he found an old Disney or Broadway gem. What do you say? Should we give him satisfaction?" Logan retorted.
"If it means we can get back to the issue at hand sooner, sure." Virgil said before snapping his fingers to make Roman appear.
Everyone was surprised to see the prince ribbon dancing with leotard and all. Roman smiled when he saw that he was no longer trapped in the mind. He waved his hand to start the song over again so everyone could hear and, since he was imaginary, he proceeded to sing and ribbon dance without causing an issue to his lungs or the living room.
"Have you ever felt it could all go away if you blink?" Roman sang while dancing near Thomas and rubbing the ribbon near his face and getting a nod.
"If you never stop running, you won't fall behind, so you think."
Patton felt uneasy at the lyrics, but kept himself from doing anything.
"And you wonder in your heart if you're still not who you are, who are you?"
Logan facepalmed and muttered something about how right he was for excluding Roman.
"Nothing's as it seems til it all falls apart"
Roman lied down by Thomas's feet and the rest of the sides expressed confusion towards the action and concern towards Thomas. However, while starting the next few lyrics, Roman rose up to continue dancing.
"If you have a dream, go chase it. If you feel hope, don't waste it. If you find love, embrace it. Never take a single breath for granted. The story's yours, go write it. Tomorrow's undecided. Our days are counted on this planet. Never take a single breath, take a single breath for granted."
Roman performed some ribbon art, twirls, and spins while singing to Thomas as well as the rest of the sides. Patton developed a smile, Virgil's eyes widened, and Logan pulled out his phone in an attempt to identify the song. The thespian appeared in between the rest of the sides and Thomas and carefully waved his ribbon around like Fairy Godmother's wand.
"Maybe it's time you bet on yourself. Listen to your heart, just listen to your heart and nobody else. So, go find out who you are. Only you know who you are. Who are you? Cause all you have to lose is your best life yet, so go ahead."
Logan felt concern during some of the lyrics, but Virgil kept him grounded by suggesting that they were more figurative lyrics. He also pointed over to Thomas and Patton who were smiling as if a flame inside of them was steadily growing.
"If you have a dream, go chase it. If you feel hope, don't waste it. If you find love, embrace it. Never take a single breath for granted. The story's yours, go write it. Tomorrow's undecided. Our days are counted on this planet. Never take a single breath, take a single breath for granted."
Roman flung the ribbon over the couch causing it to form a ring and leapt through it before grabbing it by the handle again and proceeded to dance like he's a fairy light on his feet. He occasionally tickled Patton and Thomas with the ribbon and got giggles as a result.
"Sometimes, the greatest moments we'll ever know are when we're letting go. So let go. And maybe our brightest days still wait for us in the unknown."
With the wave of his ribbon, Roman showed visual examples of people who have doubted Thomas before the images exploded into snowflakes falling. Afterwards, he made a curtain appear in front of Logan to walk through before continuing to dance. Logan, eventually, found the song and showed the results to Virgil. They gave each other a look as if thinking it was typical for Roman, but then took into consideration that he's actually helping out.
"If you have a dream, go chase it. If you feel hope, don't waste it. If you find love, embrace it. Never take a single breath for granted. If you have a light, go find it. The story's yours, go write it. Our days are counted on this planet. So, I won't take a single breath, take a single breath for granted."
Roman proceeded to pop up from the ground at another part of the room and continue dancing. As the song ended, everyone looked stunned and Patton and Thomas felt a little more encouraged.
"Wha-how? I mean, I thought-" Logan tried to respond.
Roman dropped his ribbon like a microphone and glanced at Logan.
"Josh Groban doesn't just help fuel daydreams. I have atelophobia and an understanding of Thomas's troubles, you sociopath!"
While Roman was sinking out, Logan and Virgil looked stunned which just left Patton and Thomas in a better mood than before.
