23. Story of their life.

(A/N: I'm so so so so so so so so so sorry for the longgggggggggggggggggg wait. Thanks for waiting.)

But I guess it was the wrong choice to ask her that question.
Suddenly she...

(A/N: Now!!!! The chapter, my Demi-ver-zards.{Demi-god + divergents + wizards})
Suddenly she started shaking uncontrollably and from the groans escaping her body, it was evident that she was trying to hold back on sobs. But she was completely uncontrollable. Sobs racked her body and her knees gave way from beneath her.

I quickly ran up to her and embraced her body.

I held onto her, whispering soothing things into her ears. When she had calmed down just a bit, I heard footsteps behind me. I turned my head slightly and saw Four standing, with worry and curiosity etched all over his face. I quickly beckoned him to come towards us and gestured him to carry her to her quarter. He nodded and I weakened my embrace. Four picked her up, bridal style and looked at me.

"What?" I asked him.
"Where are the servants quarters?"
I was trying to remember where the quarters could be.
Then I mentally face palmed myself.
I should just ask one of the other maids.

Ugggghhhh! What happened to me? I was supposed to have an aptitude for Erudite and here I was missing out on common facts. I mentally groaned.
I went outside the kitchen n found Nicole. She was dusting the living room. I told her everything and she asked me to follow her to the quarters.

"Four. Come on." I shouted.

He was soon behind me and we followed Nicole with Martha in Four's arms.
After a few turns, we reached the room Martha n Nicole supposedly shared. Four placed Martha carefully on the bed at one corner.

The room was medium sized with two single beds at two corners. There were two dressers beside the beds and there was a sofa and a table in the middle of the room. There was an attached bathroom at one end of the room. (Pic in media)

I went into the bathroom and grabbed a towel from the rack and put it under the running faucet. When the towel was considerably wet, I went out to Martha.
Four was still standing there but he was talking to someone on the phone. "Yes.- pls come as soon as u can- She is unconscious now - thank u doc." Then he hung up.

His eyes locked with mine and he said, "Doc. Mckenzie will be here soon."
I nodded and sat beside Martha while Nicole took the towel out of my hands to wipe her friends face.

Then I asked Nicole, curiosity taking the best of me,"did this happen b4?"

"Yes. She has not been able to get over Reevan. I don't know why he did that. But then on top of that now she has to work here with him."
I felt utterly confused and from the reaction on Nicole's face, it showed on my face too.

"Reevan and the twins(Martha & Mary) were best friends from a very young age. When they were 17, Mary & Martha's parents died in a car crash. So Mary being the first born, left schooling to get a job but didn't let Martha work. Mary found work at ur house and became ur friend. Martha was left to finish her education. Reevan being the sweet heart he is helped her out at the time of her need. Their friendship flourished dramatically and by her senior year of high school, they were engaged to marry. She was the happiest. Then 4 years ago, Reevan went missing. After frantic search, he was found in an abandoned warehouse at the outskirts of Seeb (the airport area) beaten very badly. Apparently he had made a lot of enemies at high school staying with Martha. After he recovered, he was never the same again. He had a memory loss. Amnesia. He couldn't remember her at all. The doctors told her to let off the engagement. She wouldn't but one day she saw Reevan trying and kissing Mary, when she came for visiting him.
He said he had got his memory back and according to him, I quote, 'I have always loved u. How cud I forget that beautiful face of urs? I love u. We were engaged to marry. So will instill marry this poor servant boy?' Martha had run away from there and Mary, well she apologized a lot of times saying she didn't know anything, but Martha couldn't forgive her at all. She didn't blame Reevan though. She was, sorry, is in deep love with him still."

After hearing this me and Four were ushered out of the room as the doctor had arrived.
We silently walked towards the dinning room. Then Four did something un-thinkable.

He turned me around to face him and hugged me tight. He then started breathing heavily into the crook of my neck.. I put my arms around him, utterly confused by his behavior.

He pulled back after a while and said, "sorry. I just thought of myself in Martha's shoes and my emotions took the best of me. Sorry."
"It's okay Four. No harm done."
"Thanks."

Then he kissed me on my cheeks and walked down the corridor. I stood there, Shocked. At the end of the hallway he turned around," u coming?"

I snapped out of my reverie and ran after him. I reached him and together we entered the dinning room to a lot of wolf whistles from the gang.
