Recap: "I'm such an idiot!!!!"

(Chapter continues)

Someone once told me that love is the hardest thing to sustain. I used to laugh in their face. That someone being Caleb, my twin, an Erudite at heart and soul.
But even now I don't believe him. Because that's not the case between me and Four, or must I call him Tobias now?

It is just one-sided love. My sided love. He? Well he was doing the job he was handed out from his birth. To kill people like me. Divergents.
Then why did his dad warn him against going against his job description? Was he really in love with me?

That's not relevant in this situation.

"I told you many times that I was leaving you and coming back to mom! I don't do your dirty work anymore. I don't do favours for liars and violent jerks who hit their own son with belts and whips for pleasure. You lost your son the moment you raised a whip against him at his 8th birthday." Four-umm-Tobias' words released some tension from my shoulders but the bliss was short lived.

A very evil chuckle made me look over at Marcus to see his face had a big grin on it,"now! now! son!!! We shouldn't be lying to our girlfriends and mothers now should we? You were cut out for killing divergents the moment I managed to knock up your sweet little mother. Now you do as I say or else....." He clapped his hands together once and a women with golden blond hair and pale skin, much like mine, walked into the room, followed by two more men. The shorter one being an Afro-American with black hair cropped short and the taller one having his blond hair slicked back and tattoos and piercing adorned his face like no tomorrow.

"Hey babe!" The lady called to Marcus, coming towards him and kissing him full on the lips. They kept on making out till Zeke and Uriah cleared their throats. The swollen lipped couple broke apart to look towards the boys. The blondie's smile increased ten folds. Her eyes swept over all of us and I had the urge to slap that amused evil glint/ smile off of her face.

"Oh goodie! So many divergents! thanks babe for getting me the best birthday present ever. I love you!!!!!"

"Anytime baby! I love you too sweetie. Now let me introduce you to my first and only one night stand ever and sister in-law, Evelyn. Evelyn this is my beautiful wife Jeanine Matthews. And Jean these are my son's idiotic friends and his short but laid-able girlfriend who is also a divergent." Marcus introduced us.
"Mevin and Eric, shouldn't you guys say hi to your children too?" Jeanine asked her sidekicks.

The Afro dude Mevin replied, " hello Uriah and Zeke. Long time no see lads."
" I hoped it could have been longer before this day would have come. Or better yet never." Uriah all but spit out the words like venom. Zeke rubbed his palm on Uriah's back to clam him down. Mevin just smirked at his children. Eric looked at Lynn and Shauna and said, " how do you do girls, my not-so-little-anymore angels?"

Lynn snorted and turned her head around glaring at the wall dividing the kitchen from the vestibule leading into the downstairs bedrooms. Shauna looked at a loss for words.
"How is your and Zeke's child doing? What's his name? Hector?" Eric continued on with an evil grin smitten on his face?

All of our heads turned towards Shauna and Zeke, nearly getting a whiplash. Zeke looked as confused as all of us.

"What is he talking about? We have a child? Why didn't I know about this? When did this happen?" The words seemed to burst out of Zeke's mouth.
"Umm,,,.... He is 3 yrs old...... Umm..... With my mum..... I got him at 14..... Umm..... After graduating from middle school..... The night...,, you know.... You remember right?" She asked but only getting a nod from Zeke in reply. He was dumbstruck.

Uriah broke the silence by saying,"I'm an uncle?"

" Now now kids no need to be so surprised. Things happen.....", " But I thought it was your brother?" Zeke cut-off Marcus' rant.

Shauna palled but didn't answer.

"Zeke! Dude I think we should discuss it later." Will spoke out from his seat beside Christina. "Yeah I agree with Will!" Was Chris' response.

"Thank you for disclosing all these secrets but could you please get out of this place? You are getting on my nerve. And before I thwart your face it's better to leave don't you think?" Four voice came out clipped and tight.

Now that I glanced at him, I realised that his face was absolutely red and a vein in his temple was bulging dangerously. I placed my hand on his back instinctively but before I could take it off his back, he had pulled me to his side by my waist and was shouting at his dad," I LOVE TRIS,....... IM NOT DOING THIS FOR SOME STUPID DECISION YOU TOOK WHEN I WAS 1..... I M DOING THIS BECAUSE I CARE FOR TRIS. I WANT TO BE WITH HER. But you would never understand that. " He ended at a silent note.

Weirdly enough the evil gang members have all gone out without a word that day. But little did we know......

It's 1:00am here and my school starts in 6 hours time. I better go to sleep. Good night.
