Lover in Chaos Part 2

Rey has lived her whole life as a scavenger for her horrible so-called foster father Unkar Plutt. He was more like her slave master. She was abandoned at a very young age and left in the care of Unkar who she hates. She would rather be dead than be with Unkar. He treats her horribly she is basically his slave. She must scavenge in order to get food. Her life is awful.

She lives in a village called Jakku out in the desert miles away from any cities. When the zombie apocalypse was announced Unkar abandoned Rey and left to seek refuge leaving her alone with hardly anything at all.

He took most of the food however Rey was lucky that the others in the village had left too and she went and broke into the abandoned buildings and gathered things like food, blankets and weapons. Nobody was in the village but her and she was terrified if the zombies would find her. She was a fighter, but she was pretty sure she wouldn't be able to fight off 20 zombies alone all at once. She needed to find someone willing to help her but that was useless she had always been alone but now she felt the most alone she had ever felt. She had never felt so alone!

Rey knew that the zombies where mostly in the cities and that they walked really slowly so it would take them weeks to get to her which was lucky for her, but she still didn't feel safe. Rey decided to fortify herself a place to stay. Jakku was a very hot place saying as it was in a desert, but Rey didn't care she was used to the heat by now. She worked for hours at a time digging a large ditch around the building she had stayed in since she was abandoned at 5. She then put up a big fence made of metal sheets she salvaged around the building. She boarded up the windows on the ground level and made sure the upstairs windows were reinforced but still usable so she could use them as a watch out.

Rey made sure she had a little bit of land around the house inside the fence that she could use to put up storage sheds, grow crops and fix things like a car in case she ever needed to escape. Rey made the house her own home not like the house Unkar imprisoned her in for so long. She made sure to ration her food and be careful with what she was using. Luckily, she had some seeds and has dug out an area for crops.

Rey may be safe because of all the things she has done to the house, but she still just wants to be able to be told she is ok to have a friend. To have someone who cares about her. She has always needed that needed someone who cared.
