Lover in chaos part 15

"You won't need stitches thankfully. I have a first aid kit in the back that I will be able to clean and dress it with."

Rey was thankful that she needed no stitches. She was beginning to turn a bit pale so Ben quickly retrieved the first aid kit.

Ben got out some anti-bacterial wipes and cleaned the wound as Rey hissed and swore in pain. He then got some medical cotton plaster pads and pressed hard against her side to stop the bleeding.

"Ow!"

"I know Rey I'm sorry but it had to be done."

Once Ben was happy that the bleeding had slowed enough he used bandage wrap to secure a bandage over the wound. With Rey wrapped up they could get going.

"I will carry you into the passenger seat it will be quicker and easier."

With a nod in reply from Rey he opened the passenger door then put his hands under her knees and lifted her. Rey grunted in pain as Ben lifted her into the car but he was gentle and carefully placed her down.

Ben got the blanket from the backseat of his truck and gave it to Rey. She was still pale and Ben was worried.

"Rey do you feel ok?" He said concerned.

"My side hurts." She groaned, "Feel like I have no energy and my head hurts."

"I think we might have pain killers somewhere." Ben said whilst rummaging around in the bags.

"Here you go you can take it with one of these energy drinks."

Rey took the painkiller and lay her head down on the seat.

"I think you will be alright to get some sleep because you didn't hit your head and you haven't lost to much blood."

*yawn, "yeah I think it will be fine."

Within minutes Rey was fast asleep. Ben drives out of the small town and continued up North. They were not too far away from where this rumoured safe haven was so the quicker they traveled their the quicker they were safe.

A few hours later Rey woke up with a sharp pain in her shoulder. Reys Yelp caught Ben's attention straight away. Reys hand went to her shoulder a pained expression on her face.

"Rey are you ok? Hold on I will stop the car."

Ben stopped the car onto the side of the desert road. Turning to Rey he could tell her shoulder was hurting her but her didn't think she had hurt it, if she did she didn't say before.

Rey felt the car stop. Ben leant over and gently grabbed Reys hand.

"Its my shoulder I think its cut I'm not sure it happened after my side."

"Ok I will look at it."

Ben made sure that they were secure from Zombies and reclined his seat to get to Rey better. He was careful in moving her t-shirt to her access to the wound.

He was surprised at what he saw. Rey saw in the mirror that the wound was in fact a bite. A zombie bite!

"Omg no it cant be!" Rey started to sob.

She didn't understand how could she have been bitten and not turn into a zombie yet. How long did it take to turn into a zombie?

"This doesn't make sense it only takes about 10 minutes to turn and it's been like 5 hours." Ben said.

Rey didn't want to die. Rey had been the best she had ever been with Ben and she didn't want to be without him again. She wanted to live and stay with Ben.

Ben loved Rey he had never met someone like her ever before and he wasnt going to leave her. Never!
