Lover in chaos Part 17

"Well then it is very nice to meet you too Rey."

"Nice to meet you Mr Kenobi." Rey said smiling softly, "Ben could you please but me down I think all of the sitting has cramped my legs." 

Ben nodded and gently placed Rey down into a standing persition whilst still keeping an arm around her so that she could balance correctly.

"Rey was injured during an attack she needs somewhere to recover better. She has a wound on her side that has been treat and bandaged by me. But they is something else that we would like to discuss with you in private Mr Kenobi." Ben said.

"Very well then follow me. " 

Ben and Rey were lead into a building that was obviously fixed up to house those who had managed to avoid being turned into a zombie. This place obviously wasn't the ritz but it was good enough. It looked like it use to be an abandoned hotel so it had plenty of rooms for people to stay in. They was watch towers constructed along the perimeter to watch out from zombie as well. It looked like it was very well secured and that the people here were good at scouting for resources like weapons and food. 

Obi Wan took them to his private lab room that was constructed out of his equipment that he managed to escape with and some things that had been salvaged from scientific sites around the city. It was a good make shift labarotory considering the mess that was happening outside of the refuge walls.  

Ben and Rey sat down at one of the empty desks in the room and decided it was better to tell Obi Wan than anyone else, after all he was a scientist and probably could understand better than anyone it also helped that Ben's mother was his old friend.

"Ok so the attack took place after we had stopped for supplies after getting out of our safe house in the desert town of Jakku. We collect some supplies from a grocery store in the first town we came across then when we headed back to the car we were caught up in a herd of zombies. I was only wounded a little bit with some minor cuts and bruises by Rey had hurt her side after being shoved into the side of the truck. I managed to bandage and tend to Reys wound before we continued on the road. Rey was given some pain relief then fell asleep afterwards as I drove. We were heading north as we had heard about this place. After about 3-4 hours Rey woke up and was in pain so I turned over the car that's when we discovered that she had been bite by a zombie."

"Bite you say well that is very odd that she didn't turn straight away and that she still hasn't. I'm guessing that you continued up north after you had discovered this in hopes she would be alright?" Obi Wan said, Ben nodded in reply.

"Well then if it has been this long then it seems that Rey may actually be immuned. We don't let anyone into the refuge that has been bitten by a zombie as they can turn and become a problem very quickly but I think for you Rey we can make an exception, after all you could be an assit to discovering the cure."  

Rey didn't even know what to say she was happy that they were not going to kick her out but at the same time skeptical about the hole thing. She was pleased that they was maybe some hope for her and that she might not turn into a zombie after all but she couldn't help but wonder what tests they might do on her. 

"I would like to take a blood sample from you Rey and also a sample of  the tissue around the wound of the bite."

Rey nodded meekly and Ben squeezed her hand. Obi Wan got everything prepared  and made quick work out of taking a small tissue sample from the wound which Rey would be lying if she said that it didn't hurt. However it wasn't allot of tissue he didn't exactly take a chunk out of her just the top layer of skin. She wasn't allowed any painkillers for it incase it muddled up her blood result. Her bloods were done with ease. Ben held her hand the entire time making her heart melt into a puddle on the floor. Rey was given painkillers after her bloods were done which she was greatful for. 

"I will let you both get some rest now they is a room close to the lab I will let you both stay their due to Reys condition. I will have some food sent to you whilst I review the results." 

"Thank you." Both Rey and Ben said at the same time as they went into the room that Mr Kenobi had allocated to them. 

The room was one of the old hotel suites it was very nice. It was much nicer than anything that Rey had seen a room be like saying as her room in Jakku was nothing exactly to write home about in the slightest. 

The food that was brought to them was actually warm which was incredible neither of them had tasted warm food in ages thank the Lord for the hotels kitchen. After they were well and truely full Ben felt his eyes droop he had been driving for hours and was very tired. 

"Ben they is some sudocrem over here I could put some on that bruise and cut on your face." 

"You don't have to do that Rey."

"But I want to so I will Ben."

Ben was lying down on the bed whilst Rey gently rubbed in the sudocrem onto his face. Ben ended up falling asleep whilst Rey did this. She put away the sudocrem and lay down on the bed and fell asleep beside Ben her newly appointed boyfriend.
