what happens in the deep of night.

Tonight's dinner was turning out to be quite
the challenge. Putting up a fit — the lady made
an effort to scream, thrashed around, all while beating me with her oddly heavy purse. It felt
like she had an overgrown pussy cat in there.
I wouldn't be surprised if she carried around
a cat, she looked like a cat type of woman.

My hand was moist with her spit and tears,
I could feel her teeth trying to nibble the palm
of my hand. Yuck. I loosen my hold, she takes
the chance to plead. I was annoyed and hungry, nothing she'd say could stop me from a well-deserved dinner. "P-Please I'll give you
anything, just don't hurt m-me. I have a son
at home." This lady sobs harder, in obvious
distress. I allow her to slide to the ground,
letting her just cry it out.

I look down at the woman, I look at the
position this poor, helpless, weak lady was
in. She was sitting on the dirty, cold alleyway ground, knees pulled up into her chest. She
hid her face from me, tucking her head away
in her knees. Remorse wasn't my strong suit
but while observing her, I felt a hint of it sizzle
in my nearly beating heart. Don't get me
wrong. I felt sad for the son because after
tonight, he wouldn't have a mother.

I roll my eyes, fed up with the crying lady
now. It's no longer fun if they're not running
or fighting back. Especially, when I know
they won't win.

"Lady, would you shut your fucking mouth?
This could've been quick and easy but you
wanna scream, cry, and beg—" I felt a sight
a gust of wind, graze my face, my hair strands
confirming it. Noticing that we were in an
alley with barely any breeze, I immediately
got annoyed.

"Jungkook, are you playing with your
dinner?" The man questioned. "How many
times has our father told you to take the kill,
eat and be on our mary way?" The voice was familiar, and definitely unwanted right now.

It was my nosy ass step-brother.

"Our father? Don't you mean my father?
You're just an annoying addition to the
family, Taehyung." I spat out, getting
irritated just from his mere presence.

"Oh, c'mon now~ Are we seriously doing
this again?" Taehyung asks his voice
sounding a bit drained. Regardless, of having
two blatant supernatural beings in her
company, the lady thought it would be a promising move to get up and make a run
for it.

Taehyung quickly notices, and not wasting another moment he zooms over to her and snapped her neck, She fell to the ground with
a thud, I was impressed but that was supposed
to be my catch. "That's how you catch dinner" Taehyung boast, I roll my eyes,

"You must think I'm some rookie, I've been
doing this for two hundred years. But thanks
for the quick lesson." I state sarcastically and
Taehyung pouts.

"But since you did help catch dinner, I guess
we can share." I tell Taehyung, a boxy smile spreading across his face. "Sounds fine by me,
I knew you had some good in you." Tae says
to be.

"I don't. This is my daily nice deed." I say tell
him. We make our way over to the limp body, kneeling to get a taste of her. Taehyung
and I feast on the dead woman, sucking out
her bittersweet blood.

To be honest, I didn't favor her blood at all, it tastes completely nasty to me. Yet, it satiates
me, it upholds me for the next two or three
days, until I need to find my next meal.

I have yet to have find my human blood
supplier. It's said at least once in a vampires
lifetime, they'll find the ideal human with
blood that goes beyond their standards.

I've been alive for over two hundred years
and somehow that human hasn't shown
up. I almost came to the conclusion that my
perfect blood bank doesn't exist.

But my father has always encouraged me
to keep searching.

Taehyung and I dispose of the dead body,
and already draining out the rest of her
blood. Deciding it's time to head back, we
quickly shapeshift into our bat forms for
quicker transportation. Taehyung decided
to leave before me, heading to my palace for
the time being. I fly around for a bit, enjoying
the night sky

"Welcome back, Master Jungkook. I hope
you and Master Taehyung had a wonderful
supper." My familiar told me as soon as
we enter the grand home. I nod,
acknowledging his words.

The decor of the palace consisted of three
colors: black, grey and white. I hated bright
and flashy colors, it caused me to remember
the life of my human days. Vibrant colors
don't suit the way of my life. Murder and
death doesn't deserve to be categorized with
beautiful colors such as yellow, blue and
many more.

I got turned into a vampire at the sheer age
of twenty-two. Didn't get to life much of my
adulthood, it was short-lived yet amazing. However, it was taken from me in the blink
of eye, at the dropping of an eyelash. Now
I'm stuck looking like this, forever. My skin
was pale but wasn't too pale but a cousin of mines looked like a cloud.

"Oh, Master.Sir Jeon is waiting in the
living room for you." My familiar tells me.
I nod and made my way toward the living
room.

Geez, it's the 21st century, we have phones
now. Can't he just call and tell me that he's
visiting?

I walk diligently into my living room to
see my father and his new wife. Who I refuse
to call mother, I just can't wrap my head
around how dad could just move on from
mom.

Taehyung was sitting there, looking like
he just got caught in the act. What did he
do now? I scowl in his direction, but quickly
train my eyes on my dad. "So, Taehyung
here was telling me how you were playing
with your food." Father exposes.

He's so childish. Snitching on me to dad
about such a minor thing.

I stay silent, I learned over the years that if
you stay quiet it would be quicker it will be.
"Do you want to end up like your mother?!"
He shouts, his eyes piercing into mine.

I decide that I will be leaving this argument.
It was unnecessary, I didn't want to hear this
right now. Mom has nothing to do with this.
I turn my body to leave out of the living room."Where do you think you're going, Jungkook—"

All of them, gaping at me, accusing me of
things that don't matter. The mention of
mom. I had to say something back.

"I'm going to be the bigger person right now
and leave, father. Every time a minor incident happens, you choose to bring up mother.
Fuck this, fuck you and your foolish ass mistress." I spat, anger pooling in my
stomach, my hands begin to tremble.

Fathers eyes soften, probably realizing his
mistake. Yet, Taehyung surely didn't get the
hint that Jungkook wasn't in the mood for
his loud mouth.

He stood up, a grimace on his face. "Don't
talk about my mom like that, you bastard."
Taehyung defends. I huff through my nose,
that pool of anger taking over me. I dash
over to him with vampire swiftness, I grab
him by his neck and slamming him into a
nearby wall. I knock down a painting from
the strong impact, his body almost making
an imprint into the wall.

"That's enough! Jungkook steady yourself." Father places a hand on my shoulder,
squeezing gently. I release my grip off of Taehyung neck and brush off my dad. "Fuck
this, I'm going out for a drink" I mutter before
I leave my own house. I can't stand people sometimes.
