long time no see & close calls

         "This teddy bear is huge Jimin-hyung"
Gunwoo jumps on my bed and immediately
goes to play with my stuffed animal. "Daddy
said boys aren't supposed to play with
stuffed animals, it's not manly" Gunwoo
pouts as he plays with the teddy bears ears.
I sit down on the bed, wanting Gunwoo to
finish ranting. "But mommy got me one
when I was four...daddy found it and cut it
open with scissors" Gunwoo lowers his tone.

I lean over and pat his head "When you're
here, you can play with as many teddy bears
as you want. Matter of fact...do you want
to have this one?" I ask him. "But hyung..
it's y-yours."

"And now I'm asking if you want it. It's
fine Gunwoo, I have plenty" I smile.
"Thank you so much...hyung" he jumps on
me, hugging me tightly. "Hyung" he calls
"Can I sleep with you? I'm afraid another
monster will kidnap me again" Gunwoo
asks.

"Sure..but I won't be staying tonight. I have
to go and uhh.." I didn't know how to explain
to a kid that I was going out to kill vampires.
So I decided not to. "have a sleepover," I say
grinning "Ooh~ can I come?" Gunwoo asks
as his eyes lightened up. "Well, you..can't
it only for the big kids" I say ruffling his
hair. "Hm..alright hyung. See you tomorrow"
he weakly smiles.

"See you, Gunwoo," I say and walk out of
my bedroom. I walk out the house and
get in the car with my father "Took you
long enough" he comments "Yeah, sorry
dad" I chuckle. Father then started the
car and started to drive down the empty
streets.

I turn on the radio on low volume, it was
some song that I didn't know. I sat back
as dad silently drove to our destination.
"The meeting will happen at the abandoned
restaurant. Then we'll start our hunt" dad
informs me. I hum and sit back, trying to
get relaxed for what laid ahead.

"There's been a couple of
vampire attacks recently. We have to protect
Ulsan, we all just came to this city barely
three months ago. We have to get rid of
the ones that arrived here. I'm sure that'll
send a message" one of the other vampire
hunters lecture us.

I stand next to my father who looked
determined to kick some vampire ass.
I mean I have no personal hate towards
vampires. I dated one and was close
friends with them. Hell! I was in a
ballroom full of them!

But once I brought up that we should
consider that not all vampires are out to kill
humans. My dad totally spazzed on me. He
told me that the vampire hunter tradition is
passed down to all boys in the family. And I
should have as much hate for them as he
does. But I honestly didn't care and stuck to
my own beliefs.

"Now! It's said that there was a sighting
of a couple of vampires at the abandoned
hospital," the man tells us. "Let's go" he
tells us. Father and I proceed back to our
car and get inside of it "Are the weapons
in the trunk?" I ask and he hums and
starts the car, speeding off to the hospital.

              "So..Jimin, do you actually think
there will be vampires in the hospital?"
Hoosung asks me as we were loading our
weapons outside the hospital. Hoosung was
the son of the second leader of our hunter's
council. He was a year younger than me and
had an obvious crush on me.

"I don't know... I hope not though. I'm
tired as hell and want to take a nap" I joke
around. Hoosung laughs "Well, I think that-"
Hoosung was cut off by his father "C'mon
you two, it's time" he says to us and we
follow behind him.

All of us enter the hospital, it really did
seemed abandoned. The ceiling was falling
down, dirt and dried up blood was spread
everywhere. It was so crusty "Ugh..this is
disgusting" I comment.

Suddenly, I felt a gust of wind past me
quickly. I knew what it was. A vampire
"Be careful.. there's a vampire here" I tell
him. "Knew it" my father added.

After he said that, a group of vampires
appeared into the room. Curse their
abnormal speed. I tried to analyze their
faces and they weren't the people I wanted
to see, so I started letting off shots. And so
did the rest of the hunters.

Guns going off filled the room. Grunts
and cursed words echoed throughout the
room as well. As I finished off one vampire
I unexpectedly, I saw someone in the
corner of the room, just standing there,
no attempting to attack. "Heh..you thought
you'd get away from me" I chuckle as I aim
my shotgun at the vampire.

I pull the trigger... but the clip was empty.
The vampire notices me trying to strike him
and slowly began to make his way over to me.
I reach into my pocket and pull out a clip of
wooden bullets and tried to reload my gun.

I struggled to reload my shotgun with the
wooden bullets again. "Fuck!" I exclaim as
the bullets fall on the ground and vampire
was almost into the middle of the room,
I still couldn't see their face. I look around to
see if anyone could help but everyone was
fighting their own battles. 'Well, I'm about
to die' I thought to myself.

"Jimin!" I hear Hoosung calling from
behind me, I promptly turn around and
see him already reloading his gun and aiming
it at the vampire that was in front of me. I turn
around and see the face of the vampire and
my jaw drops. "Jimin" the person mouths
my name.

I spun around so quickly and shoved
Hoosung on the ground and mouthed "Run"
to them and they sprinted out of the hospital.
I smile to myself, knowing that he was alive.
