The True Green Ninja

One

Nya's POV

"For the longest time, I thought the green ninja would be one of the four, but I didn't realize that the green ninja might actually be a girl," Sensei tells me.

"Wow, Sensei, I don't know what to say," I reply. But seriously, what am I supposed to say to that?

"Nya is the green ninja?!" Kai exclaims from the other side of the door. Sensei and I both choose to ignore him.

"The four golden weapons will determine who is the green ninja," Sensei says. "So if you were to just—"

"No," I interrupt.

Sensei looks at me questioningly.

"I don't want to know."

Sensei blinks. "Why not?"

Suddenly, there's a crash just outside the door. I turn around and open it, to see Kai looking furiously at Garmadon.

"What are you doing?" I exclaim, a little mad. "Were you spying on me?"

"No!"

I roll my eyes. He totally was.

"So is it true then?" Kai asks. "Are you the green ninja?"

"No, of course not!"

He breathes a sigh of relief. "So the golden weapons didn't react for you then."

"Well, I—"

"She didn't want to know the truth," Sensei tells him.

"I've seen how obsessed you guys have been over who's going to be the green ninja, and I didn't want to end up like that. Plus, I've really loved being the Samurai X, and I don't want to give that up just to be a ninja," I explain.

Kai just looks at me like I'm crazy. He's probably wondering why I wouldn't want to be the green ninja. The truth is, I would love to be the green ninja, but logically, I think the role belongs to somebody else.

While the four ninja have all been debating on who they think it will be, I've been thinking about it also; and I don't think it's one of them.

You see, Garmadon has one weakness: he actually cares for his son. Which means that Lloyd is the only one who can defeat him.

"Nya?" Sensei says, interrupting my thoughts. "Would you mind bringing the golden weapons up to the deck? I think the ninja should start their daily training."

"Of course, Sensei."

I go back into the room, and just as I approach the weapons, they rise up in front of me.

My eyes widen.

This can't be true.

Hey guys! This is a new story I've been working on. I just rewatched season one, and this chapter is based off of the episode where the green ninja is determined. In the show, when Nya said something about not wanting to know if she was supposed to be the green ninja or not, it got me thinking; what if Nya was actually supposed to be the green ninja, not Lloyd?

Also, let me know what you think about the book cover! I'm not the greatest editor, but I tried. It took a lot of effort to make Nya look like the green ninja.
