Y/n's POV

"The golden weapons chose the wrong person," I say.

"You mean... I was never meant to be the green ninja?" Lloyd asks.

"Um, well, you were, actually..." I start. "The golden weapons were supposed to choose you, but they chose Nya instead."

"Wait, what?" Lloyd replies. "Nya, why didn't you say anything?"

I stare at them both for a few seconds. "Hold on. If the weapons chose Nya, how come everyone thought they chose Lloyd?"

"Because I let them think that," Nya explains. "I knew I wasn't supposed to be the green ninja, so I hid the fact that the weapons rose for me. Lloyd has so much more potential than I do."

"Unfortunately, you're right," I say, hating that I have to tell her this. "Lloyd really does have more potential. He's the grandson of the first Spinjitzu master, he's his father's only weakness, and honestly, he'd look much better than you in green."

"So what are we going to do?" Lloyd asks.

I sigh. "Your only option is to adapt to this new destiny. Nya is the green ninja now, not Lloyd, even though the scroll said that he would be."

Suddenly, the phone starts to ring. Nya immediately goes to the control station to see what's the matter. Lloyd and I follow, and listen intently to the conversation after Nya puts the caller on speaker.

"Nya! You there?" a high-pitched voice says.

"Jay? What's wrong?" she replies.

"Why does he sound like a girl?" I ask.

Lloyd snickers, and Nya glares at him.

"Meet us at Buddy's Pizza in ten minutes, and bring our weapons!"

"Weapons?"

—————-

The three of us make our way to the pizza place, holding the ninja's weapons. Nya's holding the numbchucks and shurikens, Ive got Cole's scythe, while Lloyd has a katana. We walk through the doors, and start looking around.

"Psst, Lloyd," a boy says, tugging my new friend's shirt.

"Beat it, kid, I'm on a mission," Lloyd replies.

"It's me, Kai."

Nya, Lloyd and I stare at the boy in red, and simultaneous drop the weapons we're holding in shock as soon as we recognize the ninja of fire, along with the rest of the team.

"You—you're—you're... small!" Lloyd exclaims. The whole restaurant goes silent at his outburst.

"Would you keep it down? We're trying to lay low," Kai hisses.

"What happened?!" Nya exclaims. "I thought you had everything under control!"

"Garmadon used his megaweapon to turn us younger," Cole explains. "But the thing is, it didn't just work on us, it also brought a Grundle back to life! Hey, who's that?"

"This is y/n," Lloyd introduces me, but I'm not paying attention. Instead, I'm wondering about something that doesn't make any sense.

"How come Zane looks like a kid? He's a nindroid, and therefore never had a younger form," I say, confused.

"You tell me! You're the one who's from Cloud Kingdom!" Zane exclaims.

I blink. "How did you know that?"

"I saw it in a dream," he replies with a shrug.

"But what about the statement 'nindroids don't dream,' huh?!" Jay shrieks. "You just denied the ability a half hour ago! Why is logic no longer working?"

"Uh oh," I mutter. "They warned me about this."

"Who's they?" Cole asks.

"The master writers," I tell him. "They taught us all that if we ever interfere with a story, or even just pay a different realm a visit, the logical occurrence of certain circumstances will cease to commence."

"I have no idea what that means," Kai says blankly. "But I'll just take it that something's gone wrong."

"Yes, which is why I came down to Ninjago in the first place. Unfortunately, my presence has now altered the logic in Ninjago," I say. "But Ninjago never really had logic in the first place, so I guess it's okay."

"Anyway," Lloyd says, changing the topic. "There's something Nya has to tell you."

"What?! Now?!?! Way to throw me under the bus, Lloyd!"

"Better sooner than later," he replies with a shrug.

"What's wrong, sis?" Kai asks.

"I... uh...."

"Nya's the green ninja," I say for her, tired with her stalling.

"WHAT?!!?" Kai, Cole and Zane all yell. Once again, the whole restaurant goes quiet. Jay's lack of reaction makes me think he already knows.

"Since when?" Cole asks.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Kai demands.

"That would explain all her suspicious behaviour," Zane remarks. "So, based off of y/n's presence, I'm guessing this wasn't supposed to happen?"

"No," I agree. "Lloyd was written to be the green ninja, but somehow, it's now Nya's destiny."

"Okay, okay! Enough on this topic!" Jay interrupts. "Shouldn't we be focused on getting us back to normal?"

"I dunno..." Lloyd ponders. "it's kinda funny seeing you all flustered like this."
