(there's been a time skip from the last chapter because I have absolutely no idea what comes next)
--------Nya's POV---------
"The helm's resting spot could be anywhere on the apparatus," Misako informs us as we stare at the giant clock. "Once we place it there, then the countdown until the final battle will stop."
Everyone then starts looking for the perch. We toss the helmet around as we find possible places, but none of them work.
"Over here!" I suggest, and someone tosses me the helm. I place it on a spot above a turning gear, but nothing happens.
"How about here?" Jay asks. I pass the helm to him, but it doesn't respond to the place he put it.
"We're running out of time!" Cole informs us. He's right; the clock has barely a minute left.
We try almost every single spot on the clock that could be the helm's resting place, but still nothing.
"Nya!" Misako cries suddenly, pointing to one particular place. "Over there!"
With ten seconds left, Zane throws the helmet to me, and I dodge all the gears to get to the spot Misako said. I place it on the perch just as the clock gets to zero.
The apparatus stops moving, but then a deafening sound blares from the horns on top of it.
"The horns of destruction!" Misako says, fear in her tone. "We were too late..."
—————-another timeskip cuz why not———-
We all head back to the bounty, feeling defeated. Sensei tells me that the final battle could be initiated at any second, so I always have to be on guard.
We all stay in the control room together, waiting for the inevitable to occur. I pace back and forth impatiently, thinking about all the different ways Garmadon can strike. My attention is drawn away from my thoughts when I noticed some thing off about y/n.
"Are you okay?" I ask. "You don't looks so good."
"Yeah, I-I'm fine... I just feel a little weird."
Suddenly, y/n falls into the ground unconscious.
—————-y/n's POV————-
I wake up familiar floors. I sit up, wondering how the heck I'm back in Cloud Kingdom.
"We're sorry for the scare," a voice says. "Bringing you here would be too drastic, so we put you to sleep. You're currently in a dream, but it is far from imaginary."
I glanced down at my hands, and sure enough, they're translucent, as if I'm not really here.
"Fenwick?" I question, noticing the writer's worried expression. "What's going on?"
"I fear there is a bit of a problem with the story of Ninjago," he explains, offering me his hand to help me up.
"I think we established that a while ago."
"Yes, but it is far worse than we feared... someone has escaped from the cursed realm."
My eyes widen. "Who?"
"You'll find out soon enough. He's heading towards the Dark Island, but we don't know exactly what he wants. He might be planning on siding with Garmadon during the final battle, or perhaps he's after something specific..."
I furrow my brow. "When you say something specific, is there anything you have in mind?"
Fenwick sighs. "There is a chest buried on the island. Inside of it is an alternate version of Ninjago's destiny scroll... one written by a supporter of the Overlord. If the scroll is found again, it may alter the reality as we know it. It is vital that this chest stays hidden, away from all of humankind."
I bite my lip, realizing that Lloyd and I may have screwed up. "Well, about that..."
——————-Lloyd's POV————-
Zane does a medial scan of y/n, but there doesn't appear to be any triggers of the sudden collapse.
"Wake up wake up wake up," I mutter, holding y/n's hand.
As if I was heard, y/n suddenly wakes up with a gasp.
"Stay with your head on the floor," Zane instructs gently. "You may be suffering from low blood pressure."
"No, I'm not," y/n says, getting up. "I was just at Cloud Kingdom. Apparently, someone escaped from the cursed realm, but it wasn't planned."
"I'm guessing that means someone's come back to life who's not supposed to," Kai says.
"Exactly. Fenwick told me whoever it is, he's coming to the Dark Island, probably with malicious intentions."
"Great," Jay laughs nervously. "Another thing to worry about."
