My first tournament part 1/4

I walked into the card shop, ready to join the tournament. I walked over to the coutner. The young man behind it smiled at me. "Can I help you sir?"

"I would like to join the tournament today." He handed me a sign-up form. 

"Just filll this out and you can participate." A man walked over, the shop manager I guessed.

"We only have three more spots for the tournament." He announced to all of the people in the store. I looked over and the saw the two existing members of the team that represents the card shop. I finished filling out my form. "Only one spot left."

"Excuse me sir." He turned around and looked at me.

"Yes?" I handed him the form.

"I would like to sign-up for the tournament." He looked over the forms. 

"Everything seems in order. Ok. The tournament is now full. We will start in just a few more minutes, so everyone get ready. There is a special surprise for the winner of this tournament, but I will reveal that at the end." All the participants went to tables to get their decks ready. I noticed the members of the team glancing over at me. I walked over to a table and sat down, waiting for when the matches would be called out.

"Alright everyone,the matches are now to be decided. The first pair was called, no not me. The second and again not me. The third, fourth, and fifth, not me. Finally, the sixth pair was called. "Hugh versus Rey." That was me, Rey. It wasn't short for anything. My name is actually just Rey. The final two names were called out. "Ok. So we are going to do all of the fights at the same time to save time. Each fighting area has been marked so fighters to their tables." I walked over to a table marked '6.' My opponent also walked to the table. 

"Hello." I said politely. 

"Yeah yeah yeah. Lets just get this thing started." He shot back at me. 

"Don't worry." I looked around. I hadn't heard this voice before. "I will come to you when you most need me."

"Ok?" I looked back at my opponent. "I guess we should get started then huh?"

"Yeah." We both set down our starters face down.  

"STAND UP! VANGUARD!" We both flipped over our starting vanguard. I looked at my starting hand. 

"Stealth beast, evil ferret."

"Larva beast. Zeal."

"I guess I go first." I looked down at my starting hand. "I draw and ride Eye of Destruction, Zeal. The grade 0 allows me search my next 7 cards to find either the grade 2 or 3." I picked up the top cards to find what I was looking for there. "I add the grde 2 to hand. I shuffle the rest back into my deck." I shuffled them back. "I end my turn."

"I draw. I ride stealth beast, midnight panther. Evil ferret moves back. Now evil ferret boosts panther for an attack on your vanguard."

"No guard."

"Drive check, stealth beast, bloody mist. So, no trigger."

"Damage check, draw trigger. Power to vanguard and I draw."

"I end my turn."

"I draw. I ride devourer of planets, zeal. The grade 1's skill makes your vanguard lose three thousand power." He looked dumbstruck. "I call two strike beast, gunlock, one psychic grey, and two karen roid daisy. I boost my left gunlock with daisy for an attack on your vanguard."

"No guard. Damage check, stealth fiend, kurama lord."

"I attack with my vanguard boosted by grey."

"No guard."

"Drive check, army penguin so draw trigger. I give the power to my standing rear guard and draw a card."

"Damage check, stealth beast, cat rouge. A draw trigger so I add the power to my vanguard and draw a card."

"I attack with my other rear guard."

"No guard. Damage check, stealth fae, yukihime. I heal one damage."

"I end my turn."

"I stand and draw. I ride caped stealth rouge, shanaou. I call two demon summoning ninja, jiraiya. I use the effect of jiraiya. I counterblast one, put him on the bottom of my deck, call out one stealth beast, gigantoad, and shuffle my deck." He placed it on his left rear guard circle. "I use this effect one more time." He placed the other on the right. "Now both of them will have  another one thousand to their attacks. I attack with my vanguard boosted by evil ferret."

"No guard."

"Drive check, stealth fiend, kurama lord."

"Damage check, galactic beast, zeal."

"I attack with my left toad."

"No guard. Damage check, galactic beast, zeal."

"I attack with my right toad."

"No guard. Damage check, lady justice."

"I end my turn."

I looked down at my deck and then my opponent. "Final turn." A couple of the other kids looked over. Some of the younger ones ran over, but looked confused when they saw the damage difference. "I stand and draw. I ride galactic beast, zeal. The grade 2 lowers your vanguards power by three thousand. And now, LIMIT BREAK! I counterblast two, and for each of my dimensional police rear guards, your vanguard loses one thousand power." He looked at his now useless vanguard. "I attack with Zeal boosted by gray."

"No guard."

"Drive check, Justice cobalt. My vanguard gets the critical and my left rear guard will get the power. Second check, justice cobalt. My vanguard will get the critical and my right rear guard will get the power."

"Damage check. First check, stealth beast, leaf racoon. Second check, stealth best, leaves mirage. Third check, left arrester."

"I attack with my left rear guard."

"I guard with stealth beast, cat rouge, stealth beast, moon edge, and stealth beast, cat devil."

"I attack with my right rear guard."

"No guard. Damage check, stealth beast, moon edge." He dropped his cards in defeat. "You win." I shook his hand. 

"It was a good match." I walked over to the manager and told him that I won.

"Congrats. You seem to have improved since you first walked in here." I nodded to him. "Ok everyone. Get ready for your next fights. The pairings will be chosen in a minute."

"One step closer to me." There was that voice again. I looked around to see if I could tell where it was coming from, but the source was no where to be seen.

"I guess I will use you guys next huh?" I smiled down at the witch in my hands. "I think it is exactly the right time for you guys."
