Going upstairs will take you too much time. You decide to run to the closest room, that is to say the kitchen.
"... seven... six..."
And you are not the only one who have had this idea. You meet Clara, Anna, Thomas and...
"Hey Y/N, it's good to see you again!"
Alex. You really hoped not to see him that soon... Anyway, there are more important things to be concerned about right now. You all try your best to block the door with literally everything at your fingertips.
"... four... three..."
There is almost no time left, therefore it is more cautious to find a hiding place. You curl up in a cupboard with Alex, against the aprons, and cross your fingers while hoping that no killer will open it. And that your misfortunate companion will not have the great idea to tell you his life right now.
"... one... zero! Let the game begin!"
You are petrified and you barely dare to breathe. You try your best to calm yourself down: after all, it might be a joke and no killer will come after you...
Suddenly, you can hear someone banging on the door of the kitchen, which eventually opens. The killer bursts into the room. You can hear him getting closer to your hidden place. Next to you, you can feel Alex stiffening. You hold your breath. Again, again, and again... If you keep going like this, you might as well become the next freediving champion! After several seconds which feel like eternity, the killer finally goes away, and you can hear him getting out of the room. You would have rather waited a little bit more in order to be sure that he left for good, but Alex rushes out of the cupboard to go and close the door of the kitchen. You do not know him for long but you could bet that he is far from being cautious.
"What are we doing now?" whispers Clara.
"Let's have a look there!" exclaims Alex while pointing to a passage in the corner of the room, probably leading to the cellar.
You have to fully control yourself to avoid slapping him. Does he really want to kill you all or what? In your opinion, his carelessness feels more like stupidity than bravery. Clara also seems exasperated.
"What a great idea! Let's go in a dark cellar with no exit while some criminals are searching for us!"
"Clara, please..."
Thomas kindly puts his hand on the woman's arm to reassure her, but the tall blond girl pushes him away.
"I won't put my sister in danger because of a... stupid decision!"
"And you seriously think that leaving this room won't increase our chances to meet the killer?"
For once, Alex is not joking. He looks at her, frowning, almost challenging her. Clara is a volcano ready to explode. Thomas just looks like a kitten between two lions, and you seriously doubt he will manage to calm them down. Those two are way fiercer than some rabbit zombies...
Your friends strongly disagree with each other. Therefore, you are the only one who can make this argument come to an end.
You decide! Is it better to leave the kitchen or to go to the cellar?
