Chapter 11

You are huddling against the corner of the room, scanning your friends. On your right, Clara is losing patience, pointing her weapon on each one of you. She is trying her best to protect Anna.

"I want the truth! Which one was chosen to kill us?"

In the corner facing yours, Johan raises his arms as a sign of peace.

"Clara, lower that gun immediately, you'll hurt someone. Besides, you haven't even thought of suspecting Ann- "

"Are you kidding me? Anna won't ever do such a thing, and she's always been following me very closely! Are you trying to set us against each other?"

The tall blond girl is getting more and more nervous. At this rate, she is likely to pull the trigger by mistake. You have to calm her down as quickly as possible.

"Clara, we're gonna discuss this calmly and find the traitor, okay? Now I'm begging you, please lower the weapon. You don't wanna shot someone by mistake in front of your little sister, do you?"

FF2/N found the right words. The sportswoman eventually listens to reason and agrees to give you a break. You can finally relax a little bit. You gather in the middle of the room again, putting nonetheless a certain distance between you, still on your guard. As usual, Johan takes the floor, and this is not really pleasing the tall blond girl.

"Good, let's think about it logically. The traitor can't be Clara. With her firearm, she would have eliminated us straight away if it had been the case. And apparently, she hasn't lost track of her little sister, so we can also remove her from the suspects."

"It's not Johan either," adds FF2/N. "He would have already killed me beforehand otherwise. I'm such an easy prey..."

"And you helped me to set the trap for the killer up. I'm convinced of your innocence. So, there's only Y/N left..."

Your friend immediately stands up for you.

"Impossible! Y/N is the sweetest person on Earth, always helping those in need."

She quickly takes your hand, showing to the others how much she trusts you. You are really grateful for her support.

"I'd like to believe you, but it's a strange coincidence that most of the players died in her presence..."

"Save your breath, Sherlock Holmes," interrupts Clara. "If you saw to what extent the killer chased Y/N, you wouldn't come out with those stupidities."

Johan abandons, defeated. But then, who? You all have an alibi more or less strong. And yet, the game's master expressly mentioned a killer's presence in this room... Was he trying to trick you by making you kill one another?

"I don't think so," objects the tall blond girl. "He didn't lie to us before. This won't make any sense to do it now."

It is an endless puzzle. You are about to lose your brain when Johan, previously lost in his thoughts, suddenly raises his head, staring at Clara with his deep black eyes.

"It's you..."

"What's that nonsense again?!"

The young woman, annoyed, is raising her fist. You can nevertheless understand her exasperation. Johan had better have a good explanation to give, if he wants to avoid the sportswoman's wrath.

"What's a killer's exact definition? It's a person that kills, that deliberately takes the life of another person or animal."

"Really? What a fascinating lesson, teacher!"

"You KILLED the enemy, Clara. By extension, you are now a killer."

The young woman stays quiet, dumbstruck. You are also stunned by this flawless reasoning. So, everything has been calculated since the beginning? You are biting your lower lip. The game's master turns out indubitably tenacious...

Johan continues his talk with a firm voice.

"I'd therefore like all the "killers" to stand next to Clara, even if their actions were only the result of self-defence."

His sharp eyes are looking at you.

Now is the moment of truth!

If you are directly responsible for a person's or an animal's death: continue your adventure to chapter 11 (A).

(This means you have chosen at least one of these propositions: "you use your knife" against the wild animal, "you want to activate the [electric] chair by yourself", "you have the knife" during the fight against Alex.)

If on the contrary you have not killed anyone since the beginning of the game: continue your adventure to chapter 11 (B).
