Instinct (English version)

Chapter 6

You are walking, determined, your fists clenched. You are ready to make the game's master pay. Anger gives you an energy boost, and thanks to it you are not feeling tired anymore.

Your friends are closely following you, looking at each other from time to time, doubtful. They do not know what thoughts are crossing your mind, and are uncertain about the right attitude to adopt. No one says a word. You because you are too busy planning a terrific revenge, and your companions because they are scared to upset you. Only your foot steps are echoing in the white corridor.

As you are arriving at a fork in the road, an ear-piercing scream almost makes you go deaf. A feminine figure appears at the end of the corridor.

"Out of my way, you idiots!"

Jade is rushing towards you. The pretty brunette's arms are covered in blood, and her pink top is also stained. You can perceive a deep wound on her left leg, which prevents her from running properly. Without adrenaline, she would have probably already collapsed.

She reaches you, but she stumbles around a little bit and almost falls on you. You catch her right on time, but the young woman is so panicked that she jostles you without consideration and escapes through the corridor on your right. She has not even thanked you. Why on earth are you helping her, again?

You all run too, but you have lost important seconds because of Jade. You can feel a huge body swooping on you like a cannonball. You really win the Oscar of the unluckiest person in this adventure!

You are now facing the ground, and almost broke your nose during your fall. You can feel hands grasping you. The idea of having an eye contact with the killer does not really make you happy. You already are at his mercy, so he could at least make an effort so that your last memory will not be his face.

You are incapable of defending yourself against so much power. Muscular arms flip you like a pancake. You are then facing... Alex?! The latter seems to have lost his mind. His beautiful blond hair has disappeared, and he is now completely bald. He has empty bloodshot eyes, and he seems to be twice as big as what he used to be. His limbs are covered with bulging veins, way too protruding and therefore disgusting.

He is observing you with a Machiavellian smile. As if you were extremely tasty! Discovering that he has cannibal tendencies would not even surprise you. Even if you would not mind not being his first meal.

Your story will now depend on your relationship with the young man... Have you made the right choices?

If you chose not to help Alex in "The Catacombs".

His glare suddenly changes, as if he remembered something. His expression then changes again, and he smiles with all his teeth. Something is telling you that he is still mad about the fact that you did not help him at the beginning of your adventure... You would have certainly made another decision if you had known that he is so rancorous.

From the corner of your eye, you can see the young "man" brandish a bloody knife -probably the same one that cut Jade's leg- while his slobber is wetting your face. Gross. You have the impression of hearing your friends scream, but your senses are blurred because of panic. It is too late to come and rescue you.

His knife is piercing your skin. Again, and again. He is stabbing you untiringly, while you can feel your body losing all its blood. You can neither breathe, nor scream. Pain is consuming you. You will end up looking like an Emmental cheese if he keeps going on!

His Machiavellian smile is the last thing you see before drawing your last breath. No doubt, you will be having beautiful dreams in your coffin...

You did not survive Instinct. What about trying again? But keep in mind that even the most trivial choices can be crucial for your adventure...
