"Please Y/N, I'm begging you, you have to get me out of here!"

Easier said than done! You are pushing the doors of the lift with all your strength but it is no use, they are not moving an inch. Even with Camille's help, you both are powerless. If only you had done more bodybuilding! You promise to yourself that you will practise more as soon as you come back home.

After some useless attempts, the young red-haired girl surrenders, her muscles shaking. After all, she has put a lot of effort into this for way more than twenty minutes. No wonder she is exhausted. You refuse to give up and continue forcing the doors open.

"By the way Y/N, did you see the others? Are they still alive? And Thomas, how is he?"

You freeze.

Would you like to be honest, lie, or elude the question?

You choose to tell her the truth.

She deserves to know. There is no point in locking her up in an illusion. You are lowering your eyes as you try to explain the situation with a euphemism.

"Wait, are you telling me he's... dead?"

You can hear a deafening crash coming from the lift. You glance through the interstice. Camille has collapsed, and you can hear her crying.

Seeing her in this state breaks your heart. She must have cared a lot about Thomas. Deeply affected, you also have a tear in your eye. Even the happy little lift music is not enough to lift your spirits!

The atmosphere is heavy, and the young girl's loud sobs are echoing in the lift. Leaning back against the doors, you do not dare to say a word. You have to give her some time to allow her to deal with her loss.

It is at this moment that footsteps resound in the corridor.

You choose to spare her.

You are not brave enough to tell her about Thomas's death. Especially since you have been partially to blame. You are biting your lower lip as you tell her that he is fine.

"Really? Oh, I'm so glad to hear it! I can't wait to see him again, I really miss him so much..."

This idea breaks your heart. She seems to care a lot about Thomas. What would she say if she knew what happened?

Eaten up by guilt, you cannot say another word and focus absent-mindedly on the doors. Even the happy little lift music is not enough to lift your spirits. The atmosphere is heavy, and Camille quickly realises that something is off.

"Y/N? Is everything o-"

It is at this moment that footsteps resound in the corridor.

You choose to avoid the question.

You are not brave enough to tell her about Thomas's death. Especially since you have been partially to blame. But on the other hand, you refuse to lie to her. You are biting your lower lip as you tell her that you have no idea.

"What a shame... I hope I'll see him again soon, I really miss him so much..."

This idea breaks your heart. She seems to care a lot about Thomas. What would she say if she knew what happened?
