Today was the day of my baby shower and if I'm being completely honest...I was in no mood to celebrate anything. I was excited to see all of my family and friends, but other than that...I was in a really shitty mood.
"Can you at least pretend to be happy? Today is all about you?" Audrey said, sitting across from me. I was in the middle of getting my hair and makeup done, while Audrey sorted out the dresses for me to choose from.
"I'm trying, but I'm just so tired. Plus, my back hurts, my ankles are swollen, and I have heartburn that is making it hard to breathe." I complained, rubbing my stomach.
"Little Miss Aria is not playing with you, I see." She let out a satisfied chuckle, only because she went through the exact same thing with Riley, and I laughed at her about it. Sure, I had some painful symptoms as well when I was pregnant with the twins, but they were nothing like what I was experiencing with this new baby.
"Ugh, she's really not though, but let's talk about something else. I need a serious distraction or something. How are things with you and Elliot?"
"I don't even know." She sighed. "He's been very standoffish lately, not to mention sneaky and secretive. He was on the phone with someone the other day, whispering and doing all of that free ass shit, and when I asked him about it he claimed that it was work."
"You don't think he's cheating, do you?" I questioned, hoping that wasn't the case. Shortly after everything calmed down with Kate, Elliot and Audrey decided to give their relationship a try. I have never seen two people more in love, aside from me and Christian of course, but Elliot and Audrey were like ying and yang. They balanced each other out and in my opinion...they were perfect for each other.
"I don't know, but it's not like he hasn't cheated before."
"True, but that doesn't count because you're the one he cheated with."
"Yeah, I know, but you know that saying...how you get em' is how you lose em'? Well I didn't believe in that saying until now." She admitted, scratching her head.
"I never believed in that saying either, but have you tried talking to him?" I asked her.
"I've called him out on it, but he claims that he's just been so busy with work. I mean sure, he makes time to spend with both me and Riley, but it's not the same as it used to be ya know?"
"Yeah, I get that, but I'm sure that there's a reasonable explanation for why he's acting the way he's acting." Though I wasn't convinced at the advice I had just given her, I wanted to give Elliot the benefit of the doubt. I mean...why would he chase after the minute they meet, finally get her, and then turn around and cheat on her? That didn't make any sense to me at all.

Once my hair and makeup was finished, Audrey helped me into my dress, before going to check on the kids; who were downstairs with Mia and Gail. I had laid out matching outfits for them to wear, so that we'd all be wearing pink today, and I couldn't wait to see how they looked.
