Two Days Later...

I was packing some extra clothes for both myself and the twins, only because I wasn't sure how long we were going to be in California, and I didn't have a chance to do a great deal of packing when I left. The last couple of days being home with Christian have made me the happiest I've ever been in the last few weeks, but of course...all good things must come to an end at some point. I had told my parents that I'd be flying back this evening, and what made it even better is that I wouldn't be flying alone. Christian made some arrangements and moved some meetings around, so that he could fly to California with me, and stay for about a week or so. I was so happy that he had decided to come with me and I know for a fact that the twins will be so happy to see him as well, and the thought alone made my heart melt.

"Hey babe, what time should I expect you home?" I asked Christian, as I laid comfortably in our bed. It was little after seven and Christian hadn't come home yet, which had me a little worried, because he was usually home around five.

"Hey baby. I have some paperwork to finish here and then I'll be home in about an hour. Are you okay?" He asked me.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little tired is all, but I'm about to take a nap and you can just wake me when you get home."

"Okay, I shouldn't be long. I love you."

"I love you too. Bye babe." I smiled, hanging up the phone. I sat my phone on the nightstand and rolled over on my side, closing my eyes, as I slowly drifted off to sleep. I was almost in a deep sleep, until I heard the sound of glass shattering downstairs, which made me quickly sit up. What the fuck? I grabbed my phone and quickly dialed Wes's number, climbing out of bed, and rushing into the bathroom.

"Hey, is everything alright?" He answered.

"No, I heard something downstairs, like somebody breaking glass or something."

"Where are you right now?"

"I'm in the master bathroom."

"Okay, stay there and don't move. We're on our way." He said, as I gently closed the door and locked it.

"Please stay on the phone with me." I begged, feeling my heart racing. I could hear footsteps and distant voices, but I couldn't really hear who was talking. "I hear voices. Are you guys downstairs?"

"No, that's not us!" I could hear the sound of wind, along with Wes saying something to Sawyer and Theo, as I glanced out of the window. The three were dashing across the yard, making their way towards the house, which put me at ease; but what I heard next damn near made me have a heart attack.

POW!

POW!

POW!

Three single, loud, booming gunshots rung in my ear as I gasped loudly, looking out of the window, but I couldn't see anyone or anything.

"Hello Wes? Hello?" I said, as my hands started shaking. I heard some static and then heavy breathing, as I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. "J-Jack. Is that you?"
