Destiny's POV

I was standing in the kitchen with Gail and the twins, baking cookies, while Gail sat at the counter shuffling through papers. Since getting approved for adoption, she had been a nervous wreck, but she still had a long way to go and I was going to be there for her until the end.

"I really shouldn't be doing any of this without Jason." She sighed, placing her hand on her forehead. "Plus, I should really get started on dinner."

"No, what you need to do is relax and read over those forms. I've given you the rest of the day off, which means that you're free to do whatever you want." I told her, wiping the twins face and hands. We made a little bit of a mess, making these cookies from scratch, but I should've saw it coming. Like I said before, my kids are serious mess makers, but at least they attempted to help me clean up. "Okay babies...the cookies take about fifteen minutes to bake, so go sit at the kitchen table, while I order us some dinner." They jumped down off of their step stool and ran over to the kitchen table, grabbing their tablets, while I finished cleaning up.

"You're too good to me, Destiny. I don't know what I've done to deserve this, but thank you. It really means a lot to me."

"You've done a lot for me and my family, Gail, and now it's my turn to return the favor." I was about to sit down for a minute, but the sound of the front door opening and closing, stopped me from doing so. The twins quickly jumped down from the table, taking off towards the living room, as I followed behind them.

"Daddy!" They squealed, running into his arms. Kyron jumped into his arms, while Kynlee wrapped her little arms around his legs.

"Hey there. How are my little ones doing today?" He smiled, picking them both up and kissing their cheeks. I noticed Taylor, Wes, Theo and Sawyer standing outside on the porch, whispering amongst one another, as they all started looking around. "And how was my beautiful wife's day?" Christian wrapped his arms around me from the back, kissing the back of my neck, as he nuzzled his face against mine.

"Exhausting, of course, but I'm not complaining." I said, turning around to face him. "Is everything okay though?"

"Of course. Why do you ask?" He caressed my cheek, kissing my lips, as he gently pressed me up against the wall.

"Babe, not in front of the kids." He ignored me, placing kisses on my neck, as I let out a low moan. "Babe..."

"I know, I know. I just missed you and the kids so much today." He said, brushing his nose against mine. I squinted my eyes a little, knowing for a fact that he was up to something, trying to cover it up by being a cutesy ass husband.

"We missed you too, but you're not slick Christian. What's going on?" I asked him.

"Nothing is going on, baby, okay? I promise, everything is fine." He kissed me once again, before taking a step back. "I'm going to go change. I'll be right back." I nodded and watched as he walked away, before I opened the front door and stepped out on the porch. The whispering stopped almost instantly, as they all turned and looked at me.
