🥀Lucio x Death Reader

    There were some things you never understood, like how people are so afraid, how people can be so weak. That was never a problem you had, you almost never seemed to be afraid of anything, not the dark, heights, or even death.
      It was a common occurrence for bad things to happen around you, as a small child all of your pets would mysteriously "disappear" or so your parents would tell you; however, you knew this wasn't true. Death had always followed you around, people you knew would die, but it never really upset you. You had learned to not get too attached to anyone for this reason.
     
      At the moment you weren't listening to your own advise, every once in a while there would be that one person who would slip through the crack in those walls you had build up. It was Lucio, the man had managed to steal your heart, he is the sweetest to you, and he tells you multiple times a day that he loves you. Lucio was an exception, you didn't feel like you had to worry about anything happening with him, he had already "died" once, and he knows how to handle himself.
     
       At the moment you were cuddling with lucio on his bed, you were holding hands with your head laying on his chest. He was running his golden hand through your hair.
     
     "Hmmm, you know I love you dear." Lucio said out of nowhere, you looked up at him and smiled.
     
       "I love you too." He smiled back at you and leaned down to give you a small kiss on the lips. You layed your head back down and rested your eyes. These were the moments you enjoyed. Soon enough you had fallen asleep, and you ended up sleeping through the night.
     
       The next morning when you had woken up, you were laying in the bed alone. This did happen often considering that lucio was still the count, he had "important things to do" well that's what he says. You slowly got up from the bad and walked out the door into the hallway. The hall was cold and quiet, it seemed off. You decided to move down to the throne room where lucio usually was. You got to the doors and pulled them open, to your surprise Lucio wasn't there. Nadia was the only one in the room, you made your way over to her.
     
       "Nadia, do you know where lucio is?" You asked and looked at her, she let out a small frown. You looked at her confused.
     
       "What happened? Where is he?" You were starting to get frantic now, you knew everything wouldn't be perfect for long. Nadia got up from he throne and walked over to you, placing her hand on your back. Without saying a work she walked you towards the door.
     
      "Y/N, something happened to lucio this morning. We don't know what it is, but it doesn't seem good." She said and looked at you.
     
       "He's in the dungeon with Dr. Devorak." As soon as she said that you turned on your heels and made your way down there as quick as possible. You were running as fast as you could, you were out of breath but still going. You made it down to the door and threw it open. What you saw Lucio laying on his side, on one of the operation tables. Every few seconds he would cough and a bit of blood would come out.
     
       Lucio wasn't the first to notice you, julian noticed you first. You were standing in the door way trying to catch your breath. You walked closer and over to lucio's side. He looked up at you, his skin was pale and he was still coughing up blood. You reached over and grabbed his hand, holding it in yours.
     
       "What happened?" You asked, waiting for anyone to answer you. There was a small silence before Julian started to speak.
     
       "I'm not sure, we found him outside laying on the ground coughing up blood." You looked back to lucio who was breathing heavily, then you looked at Julian.
     
       "I'm gonna give you a minute," Julian said as he walked out the door. You looked down at lucio and pressed your forehead against his. A tear slipped down your face. He looked up at you and saw that you were starting to cry.
     
      "Love, what's wrong?" He said as he reached up and wiped your tear away. Another tear fell down your face, you couldn't stop them, you're eyes were filled with tears now.
     
      You pulled away just enough so you two weren't touching now.
     
       "Don't leave me. Don't you dare leave me." You said just loud enough for him to hear. He looked up at you and pulled you close to him. He used all his strength to sit up and pull you even closer. All he wanted to do was hug you.
     
      "I promise you, I will never leave you. Ever." Lucio said as he held on to you like his life depended on it. You hugged him back, burying your face into his neck.
     
       "I'm just not doing the best right now, but once this is over, everything will be fine. I promise." You pulled away only to kiss him. You rested your head against him for a moment before he started coughing again.
     
       "I love you." You said wiping blood away from his mouth.
     
      "I love you too."
     
       It turns out Lucio was right, he wasnt doing so good, but over the next few weeks he had gotten a lot better, for a moment you were scared you were going to lose him. Now you know, he is the one person you will never lose.
