Before Viggo let himself go completely, he gave Sessa a serious look. "Are you sure? About this?" He asked he gently, holding her waist softly as she remained on his lap.
Sessa gave him a reassuring smile and brushed her fingers over his scarred cheek before cupping it. "I've never been more 'sure' in my life," she insisted, "you're the only man I'll ever want."
Viggo grinned. "You've no idea how happy that makes me," he cooed. Then the talking stopped. Sessa pushed Viggo down onto his back and proceeded to kiss him again. And the rest of the night was filled by their loving exchange.

The dragon riders flew back to Dragon's Edge the next morning, accompanied by Sessa and Viggo. Once back, Hiccup and his friend immediately began to pack up the rest of their belongings. They were leaving the Edge, for good this time. It was a strange thing for Viggo to witness. These young men and women, whom he'd battled with for so long, were finally finished their long quest in the unknown world.
The dragon riders would return to Berk with a higher understanding of not only dragons and the world, but of each other as well. But what of Viggo and Sessa? Well, their quest had only just begun. A quest that would be lifelong, surely full of a wide variety of other adventures and mysteries.
When the riders were finally ready to leave, Hiccup called Sessa and Viggo over to the group. The eight stood together on the large landing platform, surrounded by their dragons.
"Sessa, Viggo," Hiccup began, "this is where we part ways."
Viggo felt his chest clench unexpectedly; he was going to miss his old rivals. "I suppose it is," he sighed with a formal grin, then suggested, "perhaps our paths will cross yet again in the future."
"I would expect so much," Hiccup agreed with a crooked smile. When Sessa and Viggo only gave him confused looks, he furthered his explanation. "This place," he paused to gesture widely to Dragon's Edge, "it's been good for us...but we don't need it anymore. I already talked it over with the others; we all think that, after how much you helped with taking down the dragon hunting organization, you should be allowed to use this island as one of your outposts."
Sessa's eyes widened at the surprisingly generous offer. "You would hand this whole island over to us?" She asked somewhat suspiciously.
"Well, maybe not entirely," Hiccup admitted with an awkward laugh, "I'm sure my dad would love to use this place for emergency storage. But other than that.." He gave the two a wide smile, "yeah."
Viggo was the next to speak. He gave Hiccup a small head bow of respect and spoke gratefully, "we would be honored to look after Dragon's Edge in your leave."
In the bright sunlight, Sessa couldn't see the other riders' expressions but she could feel their good-natured souls. This offer was real, with no strings attached. She gave them all a grin of her own. "Thank you," she responded with a voice full of gratitude.
There was silence for a moment, and for once, there was no tension. "Well, I knew that one day our paths would divert," Viggo broke the silence with a teasing voice, "but I never expected it to be on good terms."
"Neither did we," Astrid spoke up, shocking everyone with a warm smile toward Viggo. She was finally able to trust him.
After a brief good-bye, the six dragon riders left, flying away into the horizon. Once again, Viggo and Sessa were alone. The two walked together up to the club house, Sessa holding onto Viggo for balance. Inside the darker building, she could finally see better.
Sessa met Viggo's eyes and found a question hanging in the air, it was a question they both had, yet neither needed to voice it aloud: what now? With a small sigh, Sessa leaned into Viggo and gave him a gentle kiss. When she pulled away, she tried her best to answer this question.
"There are still a few loose ends," she reminded Viggo, who gave her a curious look, prompting her to go on. "Heather mentioned Nightshade's brother to me when she first came back to visit; Grimtalon," Sessa explained, "..I want to find him. For Nightshade."
"How touching," Viggo teased her, but didn't object, "I think that's a fine idea." But when Sessa only frowned, he cocked his head. Peering down into her face, he asked in concern, "is everything alright?"
For a moment, Sessa didn't answer. Then, she went on hesitantly, "..Krogan knew me before I lost my soul...he said I had a brother...."
Viggo furrowed his eyebrows. "But you can't remember," he guessed.
With a sigh, Sessa confirmed, "it would seem that when my soul left, so did many of my memories that were tied to it." She looked out of the building to the blinding white light, a look of worry on her face. "I just wish I knew why my brother was friends with such a brutal man."
This did, indeed, raise red flags. A whole new story was already beginning, both Sessa and Viggo could feel it. They hadn't had time to consider it before, but now the war was over and they couldn't help but wonder: who was Sessa really? What were her roots? Countless new questions began to present themselves to the young woman.
Sensing Sessa's worry rising, Viggo hugged her and kissed her forehead gently. "Come now," Viggo's coo pulled Sessa from her thoughts, "we should sleep while it's still daylight."
Sessa nodded. "Yes," she agreed coolly. So they made a temporary bedroom out of the club house, and went to sleep, putting away their worries for the day. And when the moon rose, their hoods went up. They mounted their dragons, who hissed eerily into the fog of the night. They followed their soul to one in need. Everything was as it should've been, once again.
