It was as if Sessa had awaken with a new strength. Possibly because she had just connected with Viggo. She stood up and decided it was time to try and escape. Surely she could find a sea stack nearby and wait there for Viggo, instead of with the hunters.

She took out one of her throwing knives that was tucked into her boot. It was the one that fated Viggo to follow her so long ago. Smiling at the memory, she stuck her arm out of the cell and began trying to pick the lock.

After what felt like hours of frustrating work, Sessa finally heard something click. She pushed the door. It opened. Tucking the knifed back into her boot, she snuck silently out of the cell. She raced to the nearest window. The ocean sprayed her face lightly as she looked out into the night. Not too far off, there was a low sea stack. But to her surprise, the ship was sailing toward it.

Sessa watched as the ship slowly went right by it, unloading a massive dragon onto it. The dragon looked weak, blood running down it's body from a ballista wound. A familiar sting in Sessa's chest told her that this creature's soul was barely hanging on. She quickly assessed the opening of the window. Perhaps she would've fit through it when she was more frail, but now it was much too small for her to squeeze out.

So Sessa went too another opening, larger due to a piece of the ship having been missing. She guessed this was from some poor dragon that the hunters once carried on this ship. Sliding into the night with ease, Sessa climbed down the side. She slowly dipped herself into the freezing water, not wanting to make a noise.

Then she swam quietly toward the wounded dragon. When the ship was out of sight, Sessa didn't bother trying to be quiet any longer. She paddled quickly to land and approached the dragon with caution. It growled lowly at her, but it had no energy to attack.

"It's okay, dragon," Sessa cooed, holding her hands out to it. Now getting a closer look, she could recognize that this was a dramillian. It calmed at her gentle tone, seeing that she meant no harm.

Without touching, Sessa examined the puncture wound in the dragon's side. Blood flowed out of it slowly, like a river of crimson lava. As the grass became slick with the liquid, Sessa felt the dragon's soul fading even more. She sighed and reach out, touching it's cheek. "Hold on, Viggo," she muttered, as if he could hear her. Then, she force some of her shared soul into the dramillian.

She immediately felt it stabilize, and the blood stopped flowing. The dragon lost consciousness, but was no longer dying. But Sessa could feel her own self weaken; she was sure Viggo felt this same sensation.

Before long, Sessa spotted a figure flying toward her. And soon, more figures came into view. Five dragons with six riders. Relief flooded Sessa's body. Toothless landed right beside her and Hiccup immediately hopped off. "Sessa?" He questioned in shock.

"What are you doing here?" Astrid asked, Stormfly perched atop a small boulder, "and where's Nightshade?"

"Hey look, it's Sessa," Tuff shouted as Barf and Belch landed.

Snotlout rolled his eyes, "we can see that, mutton-head."

"I was captured by Krogan and Johann during a rescue," Sessa explained, "they took me captive, but I just managed to escape."

Now everyone was crammed onto the small spot of land. "Is the dramillian okay?" Fishlegs asked, rushing over to it's side.

"It's fine," Sessa assured.

"'Fine'?" Snotlout repeated, "it looks dead!"

Sessa glared at him sharply and spoke again, "it's fine."

While Fishlegs checked the dragon for a pulse, he was able to confirm, "it does seem to be stable...how did you..?"

Sessa shrugged and gave a crooked grin. "My soul is flexible," she answered coolly.

"You mean, Viggo's soul?" Ruffnut corrected.

"It belongs to both of us now," Sessa reminded.

Hiccup frowned. "Speaking of Viggo, where is he?" He wondered.

"He managed to slip away during the chaos," Sessa answered, her face falling into a frown.

"And he just left you there?" Astrid asked in disbelief.

Again, Sessa felt the need to be defensive. She gave Astrid a warning look. "He couldn't have saved me that night, he would've gotten caught, too. And then his identity would've been revealed," she explained.

Sensing Sessa's hostility, Astrid backed down. She had to remind herself that Sessa wasn't exactly a friend of theirs. But they all needed to work together right now, without getting on each other's nerves. So the riders remounted their dragons. Sessa rode with Hiccup, since he was the one she trusted most out of the group. The five dragons worked together to lift the dramillian from the sea stack. Then, they began to fly. They would take the wounded dragon to Defenders of the Wing Island. There, it would be taken proper care of.
