MacCready POV

☆°~♡~°☆

After (Y/N) and I had stocked up on some supplies we had left Diamond city and headed towards the park.

It was a sunny day so it wasnt too bad, and the park didn't look that awful...

Well apart from all the toxic waste barrels, the torn apart shakes and the muddy pond.

I was eyeing the area suspiciously and doing double glances at the signs hanging around the area,

Turn back now!

Death ahead

SWANS OUT TO GET YOU

yeah I wasn't too comfortable here but (Y/N) seemed fine, like they knew the place.

They lingered near a bench beneath a tree before turning their attention to a fountain close to the entrance to what looked like a train station.

They walked towards it and nealt down by a circular plaque on the ground,

"...the freedom trail?"

They said out loud as they read the writing.

"the freedom trail is a-"

A bot came out of a charging station and I grabbed (Y/N) around the waist and ran behind the fountain,

I didn't want to take any chances with it being an attack or law enforced bot,

After the bot realised no one was there it walked back into its charging port and went back to rest mode.

I let go of (Y/N) and stood up, brushing the non existent dirt off me.

"Wooooooooooow, so Mr big shot ex gunner is afraid of a tour bot?"

They poked my side and I glared at them then the bot,

"You have no idea if it was a tour bot!"

They laughed,

"Oh I do! I used to come here, with Nate way before Shaun!"

They chuckled to themself and smiled, but when they looked over across to the bench under the tree,

Their face fell and they looked back down at their shoes.

I cleared my throat,

"We should... probably get looking for Nick."

They nodded,

"Yeah, yeah right. Let's go!"

They re-adjusted their gun in their hands and walked down the stairs and pushed open the door.

I followed close behind as a bullet flew past my shoulder and (Y/N) crouched behind a pillar and I rolled behind a counter.

"Come on out sweetheart."

One of the men swooned at (Y/N),

I could hear them growl as they reloaded their gun and aimed it at the man.

Not to say their aiming was crap... but it was crap.

They managed to shoot them, don't get me wrong they were terrifying with a gun in their hands,

but still they were no sniper.

They needed to practice more.

Once we had cleared out the goons on the first floor we headed down the stairs.
