13. Is That You?

I grabbed (Y/N) hand and marched up the stairs with them behind me.

My cheeks were still a deep crimson red but I refused to let them see...

We walked past the lady in the red gown and straight to Nick who was hunched over on one of the velvet couches.

"Nick..."

(Y/N) whispered out, they still held my hand but with less of a death grip then before.

Nick looked up with a smirk playing on his lips,

"Hehe hope you got what you were looking for inside my head. Heh, I was right, should of killed you when you were still ok ice."

(Y/N) hand slacked in mine as they grabbed Nicks shoulder,

"What did you just say?"

They asked, their eyes filled with panic.

Nick shook his head and his eyes seemed to clear as he gave (Y/N) a confused look,

"Hmm? What? What are you talking about?"

Nick asked,

(Y/N) looked from me then back to Nick,

" You sounded like Kellog just then..."

I spoke up, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Did I?"

Nick gave an apologetic smile,

"Amari said there might be some 'mnemonic impressions' left over... anyway i feel fine,so Let's get going!"

(Y/N) and I shared one last glance before they stepped back their hands on their hips,

"We have to head into the glowing sea, any advice?"

They asked,

"Hmm... I'm an old synth so radiation isn't much of an issue for me. But an old suit of power armour just might be the guardian angle you're looking for."

He tapped his foot on the floor,

"That or you could buy up all the Rad-X and Radaway you can find from any chem dealer who's got it in stock."

I tapped (Y/N) on the shoulder,

"I can stock up on Rad-X but maybe we should see if there are any old suits left?"

"I already have one. Back at Sanctuary, Preston Garvey and the Minetmen are taking care of that place. My power armour's there, it might need some TLC but it should hold."

They bit their lip,

"But I only have one suit and I don't know if I trust Rad-x or Radaway to keep you going through the radiation..."

I chuckled, even though I didn't like the idea of trusting Rad-x and Radaway to get me through the sea, I would rather it be me then them.

And I don't think we had enough time to search for a whole other suit of Power amour.

"I'll be fine. I have done much worse things then walk through the glowing sea!"

Lies. Lies. Lies.

"... well ok, but you have to take all of my Rad-X and Radaway to."

I nodded, thankful for the extra life support.

"Well good luck you two. Come back in one piece alright (Y/N)?"
