Why Negotiate When You Can Conquer?

CHAPTER 20

It took the alphas a few seconds to process everything until they realized that Jungkook was running away. Taehyung immediately stood up to run after him but was forcefully stopped by Namjoon.

"Let go of me!" Taehyung growled as he glared at Namjoon. The other alpha kept his composure and held on to him even stronger.

"You can't go after him." He said calmly, ignoring all his instincts telling him to run after his omega.

"Give me one good reason why." Taehyung's eyes were glowing red and he looked as though he was about to snap any second. Namjoon opened his mouth to answer but was cut off by Jin who put a hand on Taehyung's shoulder and stared him down.

"Namjoon is right. While I want nothing more than to run after our precious baby and kiss him senseless, we can't do it." Jin closed his eyes as he took a deep breath and when he opened his eyes, all the alphas were shocked to see sadness and guilt in his expression. "We've been lying to him."

All of the alphas, not including Namjoon, were struck by the realization. All of the fight drained out of Taehyung's body and he fell on his knees when Namjoon let go of him. Jimin and Yoongi joined him and they put their arms around his shoulders.

"We can't accept his love until he knows everything about us. Sure he fell in love with us, but he didn't fall in love with us as princes. It might not be a big difference, but he needs to understand the responsibility and expectations that come with being the mate of not just one, but six princes." Namjoon explained further, his face looking pained as he spoke. Hoseok put a comforting hand on his shoulder and nodded.

Namjoon, Hoseok and Jin joined the three others on the ground. They all kneeled in a circle, their arms around each other. Time passed, they don't know how much, but at one point Hoseok was done.

"Okay, pity party done, let's move." He clapped his hands together and stood up. The others looked at him in confusion and he dramatically sighed. "Are we really going to sit down here and do nothing while our bunny is probably crying all alone because of us? I don't know about you, but I'm prepared to do anything to win him over. It's true we didn't reveal our true identities to him, so let's do it. We've got nothing to lose at this point and I'm not giving up."

Hoseok started walking towards their house, his steps purposefully slow. He waited a few seconds until he heard the sound of hurried steps. He smiled proudly when he looked behind him to see all the alphas follow him with a new fire in their eyes. He turned back forwards and looked at the moon. Don't worry, we're going to fight for him, for love.

It had been a week since The Day Jungkook Screwed Up Everything or TDJSUE for short. Jungkook couldn't stop thinking about that day and this led him to reflect on all of his interactions with the alphas.

A part of him was mad surprisingly. How could they bring me out on dates, treat me like they want to mate me, give me gifts and kisses, but then not even talk to me after I confessed?! His anger, however, was always overrun by the deep sadness and regret he felt. Truthfully, he would do anything to be with the alphas again. Even just as friends, he missed them so much. Since TDJSUE, he had been crying himself to sleep every night. The only reason he didn't cry during the day, was thanks to Yugyeom and Kookita.

The two were always there for him. Yugyeom gave him hugs and would make him laugh. Kookita would do little tricks to make him smile and would nuzzle his cheeks every time he cried.

The two weren't the only ones who noticed the change in attitude, the people who came to Omelas were extremely worried about their favourite omega. News had spread all around the internet that something made their precious omega sad and theories were running wild. People would give him sad looks and would ask him if he was okay, but he always lied saying that he was fine.
