Jame's POV

Two weeks have passed by now, and college has started again for both Elena and I.

We both majored in economics and finance so we had a lot of classes together, which was both annoying and entertaining at the same time : For one, she never let me focus, she either randomly pokes me out of nowhere, or tells me random jokes in the middle of class, While the entertaining part was when she paid attention sometimes : It was funny seeing her eyebrows furrow in concentration while she mindlessly played with her pen, trying to understand what the teacher was talking about. Maybe it was even...cute.

What? No. She was definitely NOT cute.

The class suddenly ends, and I start packing up my things, when I finally look up, I'm surprised to see Elena sitting on my desk, her legs crossed, looking at me. She was close, very close.

"What...are you doing?" I ask, a little flustered and trying to back away, but she only seemed to get closer.

"I'm flirting with you in the middle of class. Why? Is it working? Are you flustered?" She giggles, her eyes amused.

"Aren't you scared of what others will think?" I ask, not daring to break eye contact, challenging her.

She smiles, and then gets up. I look around only to see that everyone had left. "You were daydreaming while everyone left you dummie." She then leaves.

This girl is....weird.

Despite being busy, Elena and I still followed our "traditions" as she calls them : Ice cream every thursday evening and movie at my house Saturday night. I hated the idea at first, because I preferred to be alone, but hanging out with her turned out not to be so bad...except when she does things like...that.

At lunch break, I am joined by my friend Noah, with whom I ate daily at the cafeteria. He was interesting to talk to, for we met and became friends thanks to our shared love of books and anime. The only thing that was annoying about eating lunch with him was the whispers and giggles we'd get once in a while from random girls.

You see, Noah is famous in our school. He is known as the "Gentleman with blonde hair and dreamy blue eyes" He's nice and charming to every girl, it felt like he was a literal prince charming coming out of a book. But only I knew his secret : he's a playboy.

As I was eating, There was a girl struggling to hold her tray who was passing by us, she was trying hard not to fall but suddenly, she trips and almost falls, and just as I was about to get up and help her, I see that Noah had beaten me to it, holding her by the waist and smiling sweetly at her. "Are you okay?" He asks. She blushes profusely and nods, walking away quickly, she looked embarassed.

"Nice one dude." I give him a thumbs up.

He nods. "It is my duty as a gentleman." He tries to copy a British accent, talking in a mocking and sarcastic way.

We soon continue our conversation afterwards :

"So what happened to Rebecca?" I ask him after finishing my sandwich.

"Broke up with her last week." He shrugs off, unaffected.

To be quiet honest, I was disgusted at the way he used girls and played with their feelings : but it wasn't any of my business. I wasn't gonna change him when it didn't hurt me or affect me.

"And anyway," he continues. "I'm interested in this girl...she peeked glances at me a few times too, so I think I have a chance." He smiles to himself.

"You always have a chance." I roll my eyes," I don't even know what they see in you,"

"It's cause you're dumb and blind. Anyway...what was her name again? Athena...Ella...oh right! Elena." He hits the table in realisation.

I freeze, Elena? No, it's probably not her. This place is huge, I'm sure there are tons of Elenas.

With that thought, I immediately calm down, but I still felt like something was...wrong.

Elena's POV

I smile yet again when thinking about James's flustered face. The fact that I hold the power to make even a guy like him blush flatters my ego.

It's funny that I can flirt like that with a guy I don't even like...but can't even hold proper eye contact with the guy I have a crush on.

Yes, I have a crush on someone. Actually : I have a crush on everyone's crush : Noah, prince charming. I know, cringey, main protagonist liking the super popular guy who everyone dreams of. But I can't help it, his smile is too damn dreamy... Well, it's just a crush on his face, not his personality which means it will go away pretty soon.

Or so I thought, I had no idea what was coming for me.

It was evening, and I was sitting on a bench in my favorite hangout spot : the park near my home. I sat there with my notebook, drawing a flower that I thought was pretty. I may not be talented at drawing, but I really enjoyed doing it. It felt like replicating the things in real life into another form in a parallel universe : but maybe it was just me.

"That's really pretty." Someone says.

I throw away my notebook in suprise, yelping, my hands held up, before my eyes catch blue ones, staring at me in amusement. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." He smiles and picks up my notebook, and when I finally calm down, I realize who those eyes belonged to. "I'm Noah by the way, and you are?"
