Will took fast, shallow breathes as his bare feet stepped onto the cold and lifeless ground. Beads of what could be seen as snow floated slowly through the air, going through his body. He could feet his heart pounding in his chest. A similar feeling in the back of his neck occurred, sending pricks and shivers down his spine.

He reached out and touched the back of his neck, but his body jerked sideways when he heard a voice. He slowly removed his hand from his neck.

"Will?" The voice called. "Will, where are you?"

The voice was of a young boy, maybe sixteen or seventeen, and sounded just as scared as William was at the moment. He felt his feet move without reason, starting to pick up pace. The boy speed-walked quickly over to the voice until he heard it again, coming from his left.

"It's so dark in here."

The young boy sounded terrified, making Will change his direction and running over to the source. The boy he was looking for had done something Will never did in the Upside Down- speak. He was always too afraid to make too much noise or movement, afraid he would be found.

Eventually, a blurry figure came into view, causing Will to sprint. However, he stopped directly in his tracks when he looked at the person in front of him.

Michael Wheeler.

It was Mike, cuts and bruises littered all over his naked body. He was curled into himself, shaking and whimpering on the ground. He looked up at Will and backed away quickly. His eyes looked distant, almost as though seeing something different. He wasn't looking at Will, he was looking through him. Behind him.

With a shaky breath, Will turned around slowly and made eye contact with the large creature in front of him. He could faintly hear Michael's terrified mutterings from behind him. The plant-like creature's mouth was opened wide, but it was then looked over Will's head.

At Mike.

The creature ran towards the already beaten up body and plunged one of his arms into his chest, causing both boys to scream out. Mike was struggling, but was already losing consciousness.

"Don't take him!" Will screamed at the monster. "Take me! Take me instead!" The creature was not paying any attention to him, instead focusing on eating out Mike's chest and organs as they screamed. "No! STOP! I LOVE HIM!"

"Will?"

"TAKE ME! TAKE ME!"

"WILL!"

"WILL! HOLY HELL!"

The feeling of a cold, wet substance being poured on Will's face made him jump out of his own skin. He looked up at the figures standing above his sleeping bag, all wide-eyed, Dustin holding a now empty water bottle over William's head. The boy's breath picked up and he felt his vision fogging over. Not right now. He thought, starting to panic. He hastily moved away from the people around him.

Mike rushed to his side and held his wrists softly. "Can you hear me?" He asked, his voice quiet and full of concern. Will only looked at him. "Answer me, baby. Can you hear me?" Will nodded. Mike could see Eleven and Max raising their eyebrows at his previous statement, and he only flipped them off.

"C'mere." Mike said softly, pulling the smaller boy into his arms. Will buried his head in the taller male's chest, his breathing and heart rate barely calming down. If anything, his heartbeat only picked up pace as Michael showed so much sudden affection towards the latter.
