Once in a Nightlight

Chapter 4

It was breathtaking.

The end of the world right in front of their eyes, the ocean being sucked into a black hole that led into mystery. The flock circled the black hole waiting for their alpha to come up front to lead them down. Toothless flew over and couldn't believe his eyes at what he was seeing, it was absolutely gorgeous. The ocean swishing and forming waterfalls at the lips of the Hidden World that fell into darkness.

"We made it!" He rasped to himself softly as he circled around himself to take a better look at this curious hole in front of his eyes. Luna circled at his side and smiled down at her home,

"Welcome to your new home, my King." Luna gave a playful dip of her head with a cheeky smile before flying faster ahead of him as she lowered to the lips of the Hidden World. The flock followed down steadily and being sure not to lower so fast other wise they'd be sucked right in without control.

"Easy everyone, follow Luna's lead down, okay?" Toothless heard a chant of 'Yes Alpha' from the circling dragons as they lowered more and more, until they all started to disappear into the blackness of their new home.

Luna took the lead as she flew ahead while her white body was illuminated against the pitch darkness, Toothless following after her as their tribe followed behind them closely. The Hidden World was huge, a massive cavern of crystals and rocks as they were led through a narrow tunnel where they skimmed the top of glowing water.

"Gosh..." Toothless whispered to himself softly as he looked around the narrow tunnel they were gliding through, his body suddenly being illuminated by blue dust-like stars and his emerald pearls shining like diamonds. "Woahh..." The alpha looked into his reflection to see his glowing body against the water. Toothless looked up to see Luna the same, her bright white body glowing with bright blue star-like sparkles while the little pink heart on her forehead shone bright.

 Toothless said nothing as they were led through the tunnel and out into a massive cavern with crystal pillars standing so tall and proud and glowing like stars in the night sky, bright blue and neon green, sunny yellow and pastel pink all lit up the cave as gasps of awe echoed smoothly while they passed through.

"This place is beautiful..." Stormfly whispered softly besides Toothless as they flew through.

"I know..It's magnificent." The King replied back to his good friend and glancing to Colt flying close at his side, bright yellow eyes shining with pure amazement. "Amazing huh?"

"Amazing!?" Colt scoffed "It's beautiful!!"  The young dragon was looking around stunned by pure beauty of their new home. Toothless chuckled at his excitement and turned back ahead as Luna led them into a stone arch, which opened up to a humongous area of the Hidden World where a huge crystal rock laid in the centre with a crystal pillar hanging from above. Luna flew ahead much faster and started to circle the rock and roared with joy, flying up and letting herself free fall before circling once more. Toothless took that as a sign to follow her, so he came up to her side while the flock circled behind them then settled on the ledges a distance from the huge crystal. The Alpha landed upon the tip of the crystal and stared over his new kingdom, all dragons bowing down and fluttering their wings in pure respect for their new King of the Hidden World.

"Welcome home.." Luna whispered softly to him and gave his cheek a lick, where he purred and nuzzled the side of her face. "Now, let them know who's the king." She smirked and took a few paw steps back. Toothless looked ahead, overwhelmed with excitement to be ruling his own kingdom...The Hidden World.

Taking a deep breath, the alpha stood up tall and puffed out his chest to show his dominance while his eyes slimmed with laid back ears. He threw his head back with outstretched wings, letting out his mighty alpha roar and declaring his title as King of The Hidden World. Dragons from every direction responded to his declaration with a loud roar of acceptance while their wings stretched up high.

"The King of the Hidden World!" Luna bellowed over the hundreds of dragons who were screeching and roaring.

A group of dragons came from the side and landed on the rock, bowing their heads to the King.

"Alpha Toothless, we've heard much about you." A Deadly Nadder bowed their head "Oh, where are my manners? I'm Wildfang, I've been living here since a cub, and to know we have such a...strong and wise leader like the King himself is a true honour."

"The pleasure is all mine, Wildfang." Toothless bowed his head back respectfully "I'd love to talk to you about this place, it's gorgeous isn't it?"

"Breathtaking." Wildfang replied with a sigh of content as he looked around "It's been so peaceful here and full of harmony. We hope there's years and years of peace to come now that you've arrived."

"I will do my best, I can assure you that, and who are these?" The alpha went on talking to the group of dragons for a while, Wildfang introducing the group to him as they greeted each other in a friendly manner as Toothless listened to their stories about the Hidden World.

"- We're good friends with Luna, aren't we?" Thunderhorn, one of the males, smiled over to her and gave her a nod.

"Known you boys all my life." Luna chuckled softly to them and sat at her mate's side "How's the place been since I've been gone? How have you been?"

"All fine, fine..." Thunderhorn nodded "Very quiet though, haven't heard your booming attitude for donkeys years." He smirked.

"Ahah, so funny." Luna rolled her eyes and chuckled "Now come on, we all should get a decent amount of sleep tonight before we start the grand tour tomorrow. Come on Toothless, I'll show you our den. Goodnight boys." Luna dipped her head to the males, taking off.

"Goodnight both." The males dipped their heads back and took off towards their own dens. Toothless said his goodbyes, and followed after his mate to their new den.
