🌼

Forty-five minutes later I'm taking notes diligently, my heart feels fine with no unnecessary sweating, and I'm paying attention. I've taken my left hand and placed it right by my face like a shield. Yeah, it might look a little weird and I try to camouflage the real purpose by leaning my face on my hand. I feel powerful. I could do this for the rest of the year!

I continue this until class ends for lunch. I breathe a long, happy sigh. My hand is still right by my face. It's a little tired though. And plus during class, I can't simply move my eyes left to see what Mrs. Elk is doing if she's on the other side of the classroom. So I have to move my head and follow her.

"What are you doing?"

I look up and Abna has her arms crossed, amused.

I laugh. "Me?" I begin to fan myself with my hand. "Girl you know, just cooling myself off. It's sure hot in here..."

"Sureeee," Abna says. "If you're trying to be sneaky about keeping Jimin out of your peripheral vision, you're doing such a great job at hiding it."

I smile. "Really?"

"No."

Someone taps Abna's shoulder and I hear her go "Ah!"

I look up and Jimin is behind her. He looks like a model.

"Are you Nikito?" he says.

Abna shakes her head and points at me. "No, she is."

"Oh," Jimin smiles. "Sorry. Too bad you aren't though."

Abna laughs and I recognize her key flirt move. She tilts her head a little and smiles sweetly. It's also a signal for me to move out of the way so she can work her magic. I don't mind. We have very different taste in men.

I'm about to get out of my seat when I hear, "So, you're Nikito?"

I turn back around, frowning. "Yeah."

Jimin takes a step toward me. I take a step back in response. "Mrs. Elk told me to look for you. She said you could probably-"

He takes another step forward. I take another step back.

"-show me around the campus after school and the different-"

Another step forward. I edge back again.

"-clubs and sports here."

Forward. Back.

"She said you probably would know best."

Jimin looks around him. "How did we end up over here?"

We're on the other end of the classroom and I'm leaning against the wall, trying to surreptitiously edge away from him. He's too close. That beautiful boy is way too close. And by close I mean, an arm's length...which is far for most people.

"Um," I say managing to turn around so that his back is against the wall now. "Sure...but why me?"

Jimin leans against the wall coolly and crosses his arms. "Mrs. Elk said out of the whole class you do the most extracurricular activities." He smiles. "Even though she commented you should probably spend more time studying instead."

What a smart boy. Then again, I think that's the defenceless side of me talking.

"Yeah, sure. Okay..." I say and I awkwardly turn around and walk away.

It isn't long though before several girls from my class come up to me.

"Nikito! What was that about?"

"Um.." I look at them and shrug. "I have to show him around school later."

A girl pushes her way through. Her name is Amy. She's okay I guess. And by okay I mean she's the prettiest girl in class with wavy brunette hair and high cheekbones. I meant an okay personality. Not too mean, not too nice. She usually gets what she wants and we're not enemies...but not friends either.

"You're lucky," she says smiling. "Can I come with you?"

"Actually," I say with a bright idea. "You can take my place!"

The girls around me look stunned.

"Really?" Amy asks gratefully. Seems like I made a new friend. Seriously, this phobia has benefits!

"Yea-"

"No."

A hand rests on my shoulder and I see the girls take a step back, their eyes twinkling.

"Jimin!" a girl squeaks.

"Mrs. Elk said Nikito had to be the one to show me around."

His touch is making me grimace.

"What?" the girls ask. There's sighing and awes.

"Perhaps one of you can show me to cafeteria, though?"

I turn my head and look up.

Jimin is smiling like a prince and my face twists up even more. I stare at his lips. They're smooth. Too smooth.

"Nikito, you okay?" asks Amy catching sight of my pained expression.

I bet he wears lipgloss or something. I shudder. And who does he think he is placing his small hand so comfortably on my shoulder? Disgusting hands. But lovely and smooth. But horribly disgusting! And rude!

"I think...I'm going to throw up..." I say quietly making up an excuse. I immediately walk away and out of the room leaving a confused Jimin with a group of girls.

I walk for a minute before stopping. I honestly don't know how I'm going to survive the rest of the year. Or even more, the tour I'm suppose to give later today.

That beautiful boy is going to kill me.
