Chapter 25: Birthday Blues

Johnny's POV

I walked into the hospital to see Piper. I had some flowers Lilies mostly I'm not sure why I like them so much.
I walked to the lady in the front desk. "Hello I'm here for Piper Winston" I said she scared me she wasn't the slimmest and had a scar with a few stitches on it she had a mean, hard, cold face. Scary. "Relation?" she asked dryly "I'm her boyfriend" I answered.

She looked me up and down and smiled. "Your a cute one I'll go see if she can have visitors" she said "Uh thank you?" I felt a bit uncomfortable. She went to see and came back. "She talking to the doctor about something she will be with you in a while you can wait in the waiting room" she said.

"Okay" I sat down after awhile I could go in she was sitting on the bed holding some picture of something. "Hey baby girl" I greeted softly she quickly hind the picture "hey johnnycake" she weakly smiled "what ya got there?" I asked "its nothing just Xray pictures" she answered. "Okay here I got you these" I handed her the flowers.

"Aw your so sweet" she smiled "yeah well happy birthday!" I sat next to her she pecked my lips "sorry you had to send your birthday in the hospital" I said. "Naw I mean this isn't the first time I got shot and was in the hospital on my birthday I've been arrested on my birthday but this is still as to be the best birthday I ever had" she smiled.

"Yeah why that?"

"Because I'm with someone I love"
She kissed my lips. Someone knocked on the door she sighed "it's open!" she called out Milk walked in. "Happy birthday" he said "leave" Piper said cooly "look just want talk to you" he said "fine" she sighed "wait what?" I asked "don't worry" she told me.

"Fine" I sighed I got up "don't try anything" I said as tough as I could to him. I walked out, I swear sitting down.

Piper's POV

"So you okay?" he asked trying start small talk "cut the crap and get to the point" I said. "Okay I got you this" he handed me a Diamond necklace "no thanks" I gave it back to him. He looked behind me "and what's that?" he asked taking the pictures from behind me. Oh no! Oh no, no, no, no, no, no!

"My X-rays" I answered cooly "oh well this doesn't look like a shoulder" he looked at me "yeah well your not a doctor" I said taking the pictures back. "And does Johnny know?" he asked "no" I answered roughly "oh but he should" he smirked "he should but he doesn't and he won't" I said.

"And if I should tell him?"

"Don't!"

"Then you have two options, one: stay here, tell him, and hope he doesn't leave you or opinion two: come with me, never tell him, and I won't leave you. Because you know he will but I won't he doesn't love you like I do just say it you just have to say three simple words 'I choose you' and your on your way to a better life. So which is it me or him?" he spoke softly grinning.

I looked at the X-Ray and took a deep breath "I choose-" before I could finish Johnny came running in. "Get away from her" he said in a dangerous tone "fine" he shrugged and walked to the door then turned around; smirking.
"Oh and tell me again, did you choose him or me?"

"Him" I answered not even looking at him.

"Well then I guess your gonna have to tell him" he grinned and closed the door leaving. "Tell me what?" Johnny asked I thought for a moment and I thought I was gonna start bawling like a baby if he did leave me. "Nothing nothing we need worry about, not right now at least" I weakly smiled at him.

"Okay" he smiled back "so what you and that other guy talking about?" he asked "you actually about leaving or not and I'm not" I answered "good, anything else?" he sat next to me.
"Yeah actually he gave me a super expensive diamond necklace but I didn't take it" I said with a slight shake of my head. "Oh" he was quite "Johnny I didn't want it because it wasn't special, because it had no love, and because you didn't give it to me out of love" I pecked his lips "and because I radar have flowers then diamonds" I added wrapping my arms around him.

"So what do you say about going on that date?" he asked "with you? of course" I hugged him. Meg and the kids came in Meg leaned on the door frame crossing her arms smiling. "Hey guys" I said hugging Lizzy and messed up Danny's hair "Lizzy isn't there something you would like to say to Piper?" Meg asked her "oh hey. Happy Birthday! We made you this!" she handed me a paper with lots of happy birthdays and drawings.

"Pretty" I smiled "we made it at school" Danny said "wait, school?" Johnny asked I told him all about it.
After awhile they left Johnny stayed a bit longer. "I'm sorry" he said "why are you sorry?" I asked him "you could have anything with Milk but you stay here here, why?" He looked at me.

"Because I love you and I have enough faith that you won't do something stupid, well, something stupid like me" I smiled at him wrapping my arms around his neck. "I love you" he kissed me, a nurse walked in she was the really shy kind. "Oh I'm sorry miss Winston" she said shyly parting her head down "no it's fine" Johnny said "I was just coming to say you can leave tomorrow morning" she said quietly.

"Thank you, anything else?" I asked "no miss Winston nothing else, nothing else at all" she answered shaking her head quickly.

"Okay" I said smiling shaking my head slightly "oh I'm sorry I forgot visitor time is over" she said stepping back a bit. Johnny sighed "I'll see you tomorrow morning" he said kissing my cheek "and then our date" I smiled "bye" he waved I waved back a bit. He left. The nurse, Mary, stayed in place not leaving.

I sighed "in or out, Mary?"

"Oh I'm sorry but I couldn't help seeing how you two are very loving to each other" she said. "Oh, yeah guess we are" I smiled after awhile of talking we kind of became friends. "I need to be getting back to work" she said "it's fine see you around" I said "good day miss Winston" she said her hands in front of her and did a small bow; smiling.

"Piper, call me Piper"

She smiled walking out.

So today may of not of been the best birthday but I was happy, and I'm never happy on my birthday. Even if I got some birthday blues it was still the best birthday I ever had.
