Alyssa

I waited like a creeper behind the doors of the school on Monday in wait of Kaden.

He blocked me, so he was going to pay for that.

I got several strange looks but I didn't fully notice or care. I was used to strange stares. I was weird, so that was a given. And it was a good spot to watch people step in animal poop or run away from one of the chickens the teachers had yet to catch. The custodians were not happy in the least, every teacher was on panic mode, and Rosen looked like he was ready to give up on life. So I stayed in my spot.

The hallways were beginning to empty since class was about to start. The only people left were the three custodians, a couple making out by the lockers, and three jocks by the boys bathroom passing small bags of what looked like flour, but I knew it wasn't. I was ready to give up on my surprise attack.

Then the doors opened and Kaden came strolling in.

I leapt from where I was perched on top of the garbage can, tackling Kaden's back.

He was just barely knocked off balance, but that didn't seem to stop him from dropping his bag and grabbing my arm. He yanked me from his back easily and basically threw me against the wall.

I squeaked in fear and Kaden froze completely. His blue eyes were shocked and almost horrified.

"Uh-"

"What the hell, Alyssa?" He whisper-shouted since classes were going and we had to be quiet.

"Um, I- you-" I shook my head. "You- we- I'm-"

"Spit it out."

"Well I- you were- I was just- you were a meanie- I- you- randomly-"

"Alyssa."

"I mean- we- I- you- fight-"

"Alyssa!"

I stopped my rambling.

Kaden rubbed his face. "I have no idea what language you were trying to speak, but you can't just jump someone like that. Okay? Especially not someone like me. I could have seriously hurt you."

"Oops?" I tried, smiling awkwardly. My smile was more of a cringe. I was embarrassed, okay? "You blocked me, you meanie. I was going to get you back. I guess tackling you wasn't the way to go?"

"No." Kaden shook his head. "So you think getting revenge will get me to unblock you?" His eyes twinkled in amusement, which made me feel a bit better. I thought I ruined everything for a second there.

"No, I was getting you back." I moved around him over to my back pack that I stashed in the corner. I unzipped it. "These are to get you to unblock me." I pulled out a small box of chocolate chip cookies.

Kaden rolled his eyes and scoffed, but his lips were smiling. "Really? So you resort to bribery?"

I held the box out of reach. "You can't have one unless you unblock me."

Kaden stopped, raising his brows at me. "Really?" He slowly pulled out his phone. "You want me to go to your number?" He went to his contacts and pointed at one that said: Shorty. "And press unblock?"
