Jacks POV

As I waited for Elsa to come through the doors and explain to me what was happening, I sat in the comfortable chair as I used my foot to gently rock Elijah's baby seat back and forth.
My eyes wandered around her desk as I got a phone call from my mom. I quickly answered the phone and tried to keep Elijah asleep as I spoke in a whisper to my mom.
"Hello, mom."
'Jack darling, if you could bring your family over later today for dinner at our place. I've got something to give you too.'
"Um, yeah sure but we may be a bit late because Elsa's got work, but we can be there. What time?"
'Around 8, dear.'
"Okay, well Elsa gets out at 9. So we will be there around 9:30."
'Okay sounds great. Oh! How is my grandson?'
"He's fine, mom. He's a happy and healthy baby. Elsa and him are as close as two people can be... that reminds me. I proposed to Elsa today."
'Did you now, well that's great son.'
"It is great, I proposed this morning before she had work."
'That's wonderful, son. Did you ask for her parents blessing?'
"Um... no, I forgot about that. Do you think that's something Elsa would want?"
'Of course, that's what every lady wants.'
"But her folks are all the way in Norway."
'Well, go over there during the next available weekend and ask him then.'
"Okay I will, Ive got to go-- need to feed Elijah again."
I chuckled as I held the tired baby in my arms as he yawned and smacked his mouth around looking for his bottle. I feed him a bottle of his milk as I continue to talk to my mom.
"Okay so, next weekend Elsa has a week off because she's got something going on, but she wouldn't tell me what it is yet, so because of that we have a whole week to ourselves. We could go to Norway during that time and I can ask for her parents blessings."
'Sounds like a good plan son, now put the phone to Elijah's ear. I want to speak to my little baby.'
I chuckled as I put the phone to Elijah's ear and hear my mom babble into the phone as Elijah looked around for the source and tried to put the phone in his mouth.
"No, baby don't do that." I explained as I put the phone back to my ear.
"Okay, well I'll see you later then, bye mom."
'Okay, bye baby.'
I put the phone away as I put the baby bottle down and began to gently burp Elijah.

I rocked Elijah back and forth soothing him to sleep when Elsa comes through the door.
"Hey, babies." She smiled as she walked over to us and giving us both kisses.
Elijah reaches his arms out toward Elsa and giggles happily as she takes him into her arms. I grinned watching them as I sat back down into one of the chairs.
"So, what did you need to tell me?" I asked moving Elijah's baby seat to let Elsa take the seat next to mine.
"...How do you feel about England?" She asked shyly as she stroked Elijah's hair but kept eye contact with me.
"England? Um, it's a cool place. I went there for a family reunion last summer, and it was fine. Why?" I questioned while scouting my chair closer to Elsa's. Elijah moved his head rapidly back and forth between me and Elsa with a slanted smile across his face as he played with Elsa's name tag.
She smiled as she held Elijah's hand up to her lips to kiss his tiny chubby knuckles.
"Because... I've been accepted for an intern ship study program in Oxford, and I don't want to go if you two wouldn't go."
I was surprised by Elsa's sudden confession, I hadn't know anything about this. But then again, we had been separated for almost a year. And I want her to go, I mean I want her to be successful and all that-- what husband wouldn't? It's just such a drastic change but I know it's the right thing to do.
"Of course we're going with you. I want the best for you and if that means moving to England for a while then that's okay with me. I want to be the best husband I can muster to be just for you. I love you Elsa." I spoke whole heartily as I took her into my arms and held her close.
"I love you too, so much. I can't imagine a better husband for me than you. You're my greatest love." She said as Elijah cooed and we held each other in a three way hug.
We pulled away with a sweet kiss as her computer made a ding sound to tell her she had an incoming email.
"Here, hold him real quick." She groaned slightly as she handed Elijah to me and opened her mail on her laptop. "Jack, Honey. Looks like we're leaving on Sunday. Is that okay?" She asked shyly.
I of course sprang up and smiled at my beautiful fiancée. "I'll go home right now to get started on packing our things." I listened to her as I put Elijah down and slouched back in my seat.
She blushed lightly as she closed her laptop and held me tightly in a loving embrace. "You're the greatest fiancée I could have ever asked for." She said happily as she kissed me from my neck up to my cheek, making me blush a deep crimson color.
"And I'll always try my best for you, because you're the most perfect woman I could ever have the pleasure to love." I smirked at her as I put my hands on her waist and pulled her hips to mine.
"Jack..." She tested softly as she returned my smirk.
"Shh, just go with it." I teased as I kissed her neck making her push me away while her body curved toward me.
I chuckled as I started leaving behind love bites on her neck when she pushed me away and covered my lips with her hand.
"What's wrong?" I asked a bit confused.
She knitted her eyebrows at me and crossed her arms with a playful grin on her face.
"Is the door unlocked?" I said trying to figure out why she stopped me.
She scoffed then began to laugh as she grabbed Elijah from his baby seat. "For starters, we can't make love in front of the baby. Second, we're at my work place-- I could get fired for doing this. Third, I could get called up for an emergency at any time and I can't refuse a patient just because you want to fool around."
"Only if we get caught...What if we locked the door and have a quicky?" I asked with my best pleading smile.
She giggled as she buckled Elijah into the baby seat and handed me the baby bag and Elijah. "There's still the problem of scaring Elijah." She laughed slightly as she lead me to the door.
"We could leave him in the baby wing for a bit, I can run there and get back quick enough." I tried once more.
"You can't run with your leg sill needing to recover. Now, enough of this fooling around jack, it's time to go. I need to get back to work and you need to get our things ready to move." She smiled as she kissed my pouted lips and went back to the emergency wing.
"You're such a tease, Elsa, but I love you so much." I chuckled as I grabbed her arm with my free hand and spun her around to kiss her deeply. She quickly reacted and kissed back with intense passion, we pulled away smiling like idiots when two older ladies watched us.
"You two are so cute." One of them said smiling.
"Like Romeo and Juliet." The other added in agreement.
"I'm thinking more of a casanova for him." The First Lady said looking me up and down.
"You two much have been together for the longest time, haven't you?" The second lady asked us.
"Of course they have been, look they're married with a child." The other lady said confident in her assumption.
As they both nodded their heads looking at me and Elsa, I felt guilty for being so pathetic back then. Right when I was about to answer the ladies, Elsa burst out.
"No, we only just got engaged because we broke up a year ago and were apart for about nine months while his ex girlfriend had their child to only give up the baby and leave us to raise him. We only just got back together." She said as her eyes teared up and she sped off into the ER wing.
I sighed sadly as i watched her leave, I turned to the ladies and let them get a glimpse of Elijah who was chewing on his sleeve.
"I had him with my ex, his name is Elijah. I love my son so much and I love Elsa so much too. Those two are my whole world and I wish I could do right by them both but it's hard-- I feel like I'm not enough." I admitted as I looked down and turned to leave.
Then the First Lady stands up and grabs my shoulder. "You're good enough, I wish my husband was like you, young man. I don't know you but I can tell you do what's right for both of them, they come first to you." She said softly to me then sat back with her friend. I smiled and nodded to the ladies as I walked out to my car and drove home.
I spent the rest of the day packing when I remembered we have dinner with my mom later.
