I do not own the characters in the story. Or the pictures on the cover.

Jack's Point of View

I feel myself losing all feeling in my body. The freezing rain numbing every part of my body. I sat out on the roof of my car with the rain pouring down on me. I don't even know where I am, I just know I'm about a half mile off road. I sped over here to be alone, to be away from her.

I just had to get away. Why do I feel this way, why do I care. She lied to me, that's why I care, but why do I have to feel this way. I wish I didn't care. This isn't like me. I'm the guy who always smiles and jokes around. This isn't me. I don't know what to do. I can't go back, at least not now. I don't want to see her.

I get off the roof of my car and step into the drivers seat. I'm soaking wet I quickly change out of the clothes and put on my last pair of clean clothes from my suitcase in backseat.

I can only think of two places I can go: my family's house or my cousin's house. I put the car in drive and pointed it in the direction I came in from. I eventually hit the road and make my way to the nearest intersect, by now it had stopped raining but the sky was still cloudy and sad looking. I decide to go to my cousin's house I don't want my little sister to see me in this depressing state. I arrive at my cousin Sandy's house. I knock on the door it's only twelve in the afternoon. My uncle North opens the door.

"Jack! what happened to you my son?!"-North said referring to my soaking hair and tired appearance.
"Can I talk to Sandy?"-I tried to say it without showing too much sadness in my voice but I guess I couldn't because Uncle North asked me:"What is the problem Jack?"
I just looked him in the eye and told him: "I really need to talk to Sandy. Please, I'll tell you everything later but I really need to talk to him."

He gave me an understanding nod and stepped away from the entrance to reveal Sandy standing at the stairs. He stepped out and we sat on the bench in his front porch. Sandy is a mute but he's really good at consulting people.

I was about to tell him what happened when one of the neighbors kids came up to us.
Jamie-"JACK! Hey Jack what are you doing here? I saw your car pull in, are you here to play?"
Me-"Actually, no, Jamie, I came here to talk to Sandy about something." I managed to fake a smile for him.
Jamie-"Oh, okay. HEY! Is Taylor here? Can she play?"

I hold back my displeasure to tell him calmly-"I don't think you'll see me and her together again buddy. I'm sorry."
Jamie-"Why!?"
Me- "We'll because we're not together anymore bud. But it'll be okay cause we can still hang out, ok" I gave him a playful shove and a smile. (Ever since I can remember Jamie and I had this weird bond like we were brothers or something.)
Jamie gave me a sad but understanding nod and walked off waving goodbye and running to his house.

I turn to see Sandy giving me the same face Jamie gave me. He grabbed a mini legal pad and a pen from his pocket as I sat next to him on the bench. I rubbed the bridge of my nose trying to think of a way to tell him what happened. Then after he scribbled something on his legal pad he passes it to me.

'What Happened!?' That's what he wrote. I hold the legal pad in my hands thinking what I'm going to tell him. With hesitation I tell Sandy what had happened just a couple hours ago...
