The next morning I found myself trapped my body felt heavy, but I quickly realized it was from Lazarus. His muscular arm was wrapped me, my back was pressed against his cool chest. Part of me wanted to shake him off, but another part of me enjoyed being wrapped in his arms. I felt Lazarus start to stir so I closed my eyes again and pretended to sleep. He pulled his arm away, I felt my heart sink. He brought his arm to his side before he turned over, our backs were facing each other. I readjusted myself and fell back asleep.
"Ellie" I felt myself moving back and forth without my consent.
"Go away, I need sleep" I grumbled, I tried to push myself into the bed.
"You need to be up" I heard a woman say. "It is your responsibility as a blood slave." I felt my blood boil as I snapped open my eyes. The curtains on the bed were pulled back to reveal Stella, the only light source in the room was the warm light of the fireplace. The bed was empty and cold which meant Lazarus was up and active.
"I'm not a blood slave" I grumbled. I pushed the cover off myself, the frigid air nipped at my skin. I heard Stella gasp, I looked up at her. Her hand was covering her mouth, her red eyes were wide. I followed her gaze to my body where I was only wearing my black bra and matching panties that coincidentally Lazarus bought me when I first arrived. I tried to cover myself up with the blanket.
"Did you and Lazarus..." her voice was muffled by her hand.
"NO, never" I waved her off. I held onto the blanket as I slipped out of the bed. "Please bring me my bag" I mumbled, I hoped that in the firelight she couldn't see my blush.
"Okay, you filthy girl" Stella giggled. With a non-human like speed, she left the room, only to return with my dirty old backpack. She grimaced as she set it down in front of my feet. "Lazarus, lets you keep this?"
"Yeah, nothing is wrong with it" I grumbled. I bent down and grabbed a clean uniform and a clean pair of underwear. I made Stella turn around as I changed. As soon as I was changed I told Stella to grab my shoes. She gladly did, I was ready for the day. "What time is it?" I asked her before we left the room.
"10 pm" she smiled. "We are on vampire time" she giggled,
"Oh" is all I could manage. The hallway was empty but the downstairs was filled with chatter. Stella and I made our way downstairs into the dining room. We were greeted with silence and all eyes on us. Everyone fits at the large table.
"Your late" Lazarus grumbled.
"Sorry" I blushed.
"Sorry, it was my fault" Stella proclaimed. I turned to her, she was smiling, but the smile didn't meet her eyes.
"Well since everyone's here we should let the feast begin" Lazarus smiled. Everyone cheered as Lazarus tossed a set of keys. "Could you please open the door, slave." I wanted to flip him off, but I knew better. I kept silent as I made my way to the only door I knew I would need any sort of key, the storage room. With a shaky hand I opened the door, the trap door was the same as I remembered, it was made of heavy metal with a large chain wrapped around the latch where a lock belonged, attached to the heavy chain was a large lock which was as large as both my fists. I bent down before I fumbled with the key, I slid the key into the lock and slowly twisted it so the lock opened. Vice chains were loosened as I unwrapped it from the door. With all my strength I pulled off the chain and opened the trap door. The storage room was suddenly filled with cries and dim light.
I felt Stella's presence behind me, I stood and tried to leave, but everyone in the doorway stopped me. Stella handed me an old box of matches. I sighed but took them. I turned back to the trap door, I looked straight down to see a set of red velvet stairs, I took a deep breath before I made my journey down them. Slowly my eyes started to adjust to the dim light, I could see a line of cages on either side of me that went almost down the room; instead, it stopped about 20 feet from a huge red throne with gold details. I looked around and spotted the reason for the matches. In each cage, there were two candles that looked like it hadn't been lit much. I ignored the cries and lit the candles. Everything quickly fell into place, they were humans who would be used as feastings.
"Help us" they all seemed to scream my hair stood on end, tears started to prick my eyes as I kept lighting the candles. Once they were all lit everyone came down. Every vampire stood in front of a cage that held a human inside. Lazarus went straight to the giant throne, he places a golden crown on his head that was decorated with red rubies. He sat down, not before crossing one leg over the other. His burgundy eyes met mine.
"He wants you to go to him" Stella whispered to me. As if my legs worked on their own I found myself walking down the velvet carpet which lead to him. I stood in front of him, he was smirking, his eyes were black which made me nervous.
"Sit on my lap" he demanded. He uncrossed his legs and held his arms out for me, in no time I was seated on his lap, my back was pressed against his hard chest. "You know, they expect me to kill you" he mumbled just before placing a kiss on my collar bone, his crown almost knocked me in the face, but I ignored it.
"Why don't you then" I breathed out.
"Cause they gave me a choice" he continued to kiss my collar bone.
"And what is that" I mumbled.
"I could A: kill you, it would be a painful death. I would have to drain you of every last drop of blood. My hunger would be satisfied for a while." I took a deep breath. "Or" he trailed off. "They said since you know about vampires, and you are okay with their existence, I could marry you, and turn you" he kissed me again."I haven't decided yet, they gave me until the end of the feast to decide." I turned myself so I could face him.
"I would just kill me now." He smirked, his black eyes seemed to twinkle at the thought.
"As you wish." he smiled, I was quickly turned to face the hell that was in front of me, I only saw a glimpse of vampires feeding off struggling humans before Lazarus dug his fangs into my neck, I only felt the pain of his fangs entering me before I blacked out.
