A/N: I found this prompt on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/p/B5TWPa8JW0I/?igshid=td864rez7jt0) that seemed to catch my eye. Also...I have been binge watching the TV show Bones, so the creative juices have been flowing here.
Next time, I'll be posting a holiday Komahinanami story. Enjoy!
—————————————————————-There have been stories about fallen angels, but never ones about ascended demons. Yes, demons who were too pure and good for the netherworld. It is a rarity to see that anomaly on Earth, but it happens more often than you know.

Chiaki Nanami was a undergraduate in forensic science and was studying under Dr. Mikan Tsumiki as an intern for the University of Tokyo alongside Hajime Hinata. Although she loved her job, something felt wrong; like there was a hole in her heart.

"Chiaki? You're falling asleep already?" Hajime asked, nudging her shoulder. They were in the library studying for their final exams. Chiaki rubbed her eyes, groaning in anger.

"Why did you do that for?" She asked. "I was having a good dream."

"We have to leave now. The library is closing now." He replied, standing up and started packing up his books. "What were you dreaming about?"

"None of your business, Hajime." Chiaki teased. "You would rather pick at my brain than studying anyways." She pushed her books into her bag before walking away.

Meanwhile, in an alleyway, the earth began to shake as the pavement began to crack open. Hellfire and brimstone gushed into the air, darkening the bright sky. Fences and plants were caught on fire and were immediately turned into ash.

A hand came out of the sinkhole and gripped its fingernails into the concrete, making an imprint. Lifting himself out, he stood up and brushed off any ash off his pants. The hole began to close as it sucked in any remaining fire and smoke back down...as if nothing had happened.

"What a way to travel to the Upside..." He groaned, pushing his white hair back through his long fingers. "At least I am out now...about time."

Realizing that his twisted horns were still on his head, he groaned. Whipping his tail in anger, he put his hands in his pockets before walking off.

"I swear to God, Chiaki! I saw it happen!" Kishiko, a friend of Chiaki's, exclaimed on the phone a few hours later.

"You literally saw a huge black cloud of smoke near my house?" The pink haired girl asked in disbelief. She had been on the train heading home when she got the call.

"YES! Everyone went to check to see what happened, but all they found were some burned bushes and fences. Nothing terrible, but before that...it was like hell was unleashed!"

Chiaki remained silent, completely fed up with her friend's ludicrous story. "I have to go, Shiko. How about you go tell Rantaro and maybe he'll believe you." She ended the call before slamming her phone in her bag.

Chiaki never believed in things such as angels and demons. Never had been the imaginative type as a child either. She was more rational than anyone she knew, and preferred to keep things at bay. When she got home and saw the burns, she figured someone accidentally set them on fire or maybe even vandalism.

Walking past the chaos, she noticed black footprints leading up to her house. She bent down and picked up some of the powder. 'Soot? It was a vandal!'

Racing back to her house, she noticed the front door was burned open, leaving a dripping mess that was the doorknob. She saw the footprints in her front lobby, going up the stairs. She could hear the shower running meaning someone was in the bathroom.

Grabbing a fire poker from the living room, Chiaki tiptoed up the stairs as she followed the sooty footprints. Steam was coming out from underneath the bathroom door as she heard the water being turned off. Chiaki's heart stopped as she froze in her tracks. She quickly hid herself behind a wall, poker close to her chest. Her breathing escalated and she shivered as she regretted not calling the cops. Peering behind the corner, she could hear soft whistling, making her grip her weapon in anticipation.

The door opened, but she couldn't see a face as the steam obscured everything. She screamed as she ran and attacked the intruder. Throwing the poker down, the figure blocked it with their arm. The poker bent down like it was rubber. As the steam began to clear up, Chiaki got a better look and noticed long horns on their head and a pointy tail sticking out their towel.

"Hey! Do you mind not attacking me while I am naked?" The figure asked, annoyed. She got a glimpse at his face with his dead eyes. His pale skin made him cold as death. It didn't help that he had no shirt on and he was somewhat built for a scrawny guy.

Overwhelmed, she stuttered out nonsense before passing out on the floor. Nagito stared at his assailant, not realizing how beautiful she was when she wasn't going psycho. Sighing, he picked her up bridal style and carried her to the bedroom. Laying her down, he suddenly felt bad for breaking into her house. 'Maybe there is some demon left in me...' He thought, rubbing his temples.

Leaving a note beside the unconscious girl, Nagito grabbed some clothes from a box marked 'Donation' before taking off down the stairs. Just before he left, he snapped his fingers and suddenly, any trace of him ever being there vanished in a blink of an eye.

"Sorry, lady. It won't happen again." Nagito said as he slipped on the pants that he stole and closing the door.

The next thing Chiaki knew, she woke up in the dead of night. Checking her bedside clock, she noticed that she had been asleep for five hours.

'Maybe I am more tired than I thought...' She concluded, laughing to herself. 'There was no way a demon was in my house.'

That's when her hand landed on the note. Turning on a light, the scribbly message gave her chills:

"Thank you for letting me use your shower."
