Beta! Peko Pekoyama: Valiant to the End

Next up, is Peko Pekoyama! I liked Peko in the original and the story between her and Fuyuhiko. While the beta design doesn't that much different than the official, I do like it. In a way, it does look similarly like Sonia, so I can understand why they would change it. Regardless, please enjoy!

If she had the choice to go back and start over, she wouldn't change anything. All the heartbreak, ruthless training, and mental strain...it made her who she was. The Kuzuryuu family found her orphaned as a baby and while she wasn't related by blood, she was still family.

Both her and her young master, Fuyuhiko, were inseparable as children. She considered herself as his 'tool', a weapon to serve his every command. However, he refused to listen to such nonsense.

"You are not a tool, Peko." He once said. "You just have to be you."

"Who am I if I am not a tool?" She would ask, but he wouldn't respond.

That all changed after they went to Hope's Peak.

It all began after Byakuya's body was discovered and she was helping Hajime examine the rest of the cabin. She was too distracted, looking out the window rather than looking for clues.

"Hey, Peko?"

She came back to reality, feeling Hajime's hand on her shoulder. "All you all right? If you want, you can wait outside."

"No, no." Peko waved her hands dismissively. "I am fine."

"Really?" His eyebrow raised up, unsure of her answer.

She didn't respond and pushed past him. She had no intention on discussing her personal life during a murder investigation. As they finished, she decided to head back up front. Sure enough, Ibuki and Mikan were still investigating the body. Peko felt bad for Byakuya...wanting to protect the others. However, deep down, she knew that he wouldn't be able to stop anything.

She stepped out of the cabin along with Hajime. She noticed Fuyuhiko and Nagito heading in their direction. 'They must've seen everyone else outside...' She immediately deducted.

"What's going on here?" Nagito asked. "Are you guys doing a bonfire or something?"

"Byakuya is dead." Sonia sobbed, as Kazuichi comforted her. "Stabbed under a table! It-it was horrifying."

"Huh? That's horrifying?"'Akane asked her. "Aren't you the one who is a fan of horror films?"

"Who cares!?" Kazuichi snapped back. "We got a fucking murder on our hands."

While the squabble continued, Peko and Fuyuhiko met up within a distance of everyone else.

"Are you all right, Peko?" He asked, arms crossed but with concerned tone.

"Yes..." She responded without hesitation. "Unfortunately, Byakuya was murdered during the party."

"Tch...serves him right." He muttered to himself.

"Young Master?" She looked at him with confusion. "Why did you-"

"I didn't trust him, Peko." Fuyuhiko admitted. "Who decides to host a party all because of some paranoia?" He remained silent and looked at his friend. "You shouldn't have gone, you know?"

"I am capable of handling myself. As the Young Master's tool, it is my duty to protect you." Peko said, which made him mad.

"Argh...you are not a tool..." He yelled, only to back off. "I am sorry..."
