Not as the Battle Plans

Chapter 5: The Game

Upon arrival on Homeworld nothing was the same. Buildings and bridges crumbled and millions of gem shards covered the ground. There was no gems in sight, not even the diamonds. Everyone had fled.
"Garnet, where is everyone?"
"The Diamonds are in the palace and everyone else has either been shattered or pooped and the ones that survived have been sent to find you, Pink."
Pink nodded and giggled, turning to Spinal and booping her nose.
"Are you ready for our game?"
"Yes! This'll be so much fun!"
"Good! Now c'mon, they're waiting for us in the Palace!"
Spinal giggled and began running towards the palace. Pinks smile faded as she continued to run.
So gullible... so stupid.
Pearl walked up to Pink standing beside her. Her blue eyes piercings Pinks soul.
"You shouldn't do this to her. You'll get her killed."
Pink let out a sigh.
"I know... but it's the only way."
Pink began walking towards Spinal, who was waiting a few feet away, leaving Pearl standing beside Garnet, heartbroken not because the love of her life is sad or anything like that but that the love of her life, has lost her gentle heart and is now taking from others. Pink held the hand of Spinal as they walked towards the palace entrance, hiding from guards and soldiers as they passed. Pink wincing at the sound of shattering gems and painful roars from the surviving corrupted gems, all while Spinal giggled and smile only know that this just a 'game'.
Pearl and Garnet followed close behind Pink and her playmate, the feeling of dread and sadness looming over them as they kept watch from behind. They really are going to end this war one way or another.

They arrived at the back entrance of the palace not long after they departed. Spinal giggled as she went around the side with the rejuvenator on.
It's just a game...
She kept telling herself as she rounded the corner and swung the scythe at the two Topaz guards, proofing them instantly. Their gems clanking on the ground as Pink ran up to her. Pearl and Garnet stayed behind them keeping an eye out for any more guards but couldn't help turn to face the pink gems as the Diamond faked her praises to the spinal. All just so her plan wouldn't crumble.
"Amazing job, Spinal! You're so good at this!"
"Y-Yea! This is so much fun!"
She gave a smile to Pink who returned it.
At least she's happy...
Pink quickly bubbled the gems and tapped the tops of their bubbles sending them to the ship. Spinal watched her, questions flooding her mind but, she didn't open her mouth. She was worried Pink wouldn't want to play anymore if she asked too many questions about the rules, because the rules were simple, poof as many gems as possible and whoever poofs the most wins!
Everyone is playing it so you don't need to feel bad!..
Pink held Spinals hand and smiled at her.
"Let's go see Yellow and Blue, they'd love to play."
