Chapter 8: Unplaned Events

Pearl stood behind Sapphire and Ruby as they stared up at Pink. They bowed and filled her orders.
This goes against everything they've fought for!
Pearls mind was racing, all her emotions clumped up and made her want to poof herself.
"Pearl! Are you listening to me?"
Pink knelt in front of her, a hand on her shoulder. Pink brushed a loose strand of hair behind Pearls ear and held her hands in front of her chest.
"I'm sorry it had to be this way, but there's no turning back. We fought for that planet and though it's gone, we still need to fight for it. No matter what."
bullshit...
Pearl nodded as Pink smiled and stood up walking towards Sapphire and Ruby. Pink led the way as they walked down empty corridors and snuck past busy hallways, bustling with gems.
Spinel sat on Pinks shoulders hugging her neck, Spinel rambled on and on about any random subjects that came to her mind, Pink somewhat listened but cut her off when a sound caught her attention.
"Listen!"
Silence.... then footsteps.
Shit!
Pink grabbed everyone pulling them to the side and down another hall.
"I thought I heard someone."
"Yea, me too. It almost sounded like... Pink Diamond?"
"Keep looking, who ever it was must still be around."
The guards began to walk again going around the halls and checking surrounding areas, they began to near the hall they were now in.
This'll be a challenge.
Pink knelt down to Sapphire who turned to face her, before bowing.
"Sapphire I must ask you something."
"Anything, My Diamond."
"Cover us."
Pink quickly grabbed Spinels hand and began running down the halls away from the guards, barley avoiding being caught from others that roamed the halls. Pink eventually lead them to a large door. A door that reminded her of old days, a door that reminded her of all the balls and parties she threw for the other Diamonds.
This'll all end soon.

Sapphire stood in the hall watching as Pink and the last 2 rebels ran away with her.
Cover us.
The words rang in her head. Was what she was doing bad? But, none of that matters. A Diamonds order is a Diamonds order. Sapphire turned to Ruby.
"Follow my lead. Act natural."
"O-okay! Why what's going on?"
Her question wasn't answered when Sapphire walked out of the hall, bumping into the guards. Ruby frantically following behind her.
"Ah! Forgive me, Your Clarity! I didn't mean to bump into you! A-are you alright?"
The guards immediately began to panic, to them this seemed horrible but to Sapphire? This is going just as the future said it would.
"Do not worry, you barely touched me."
The guards faces calmed knowing hey weren't in any trouble, but they're faces quickly turned serious again.
"Our Clarity, we have a question we must ask. We have been told recently that there are rebels in the building, and we believe we heard them in this area, have you seen them?"
Sapphire took a breath.
If everything goes to plan I might be able to change the future? I-I just need to give them believable lies and they should but what I give the-
"THEY WENT THAT WAY!"
Sapphire took a sharp breath now. She felt her feet freeze to the ground. She can't let her Diamond down! She'll be shattered.
W-what?
She turned around to look towards Ruby, her stomach dropped but then noticed. Though her face was scrunched and nervous, she pointed the wrong way. The guards faces lit up.
Ruby you genius.
"Perfect! Thank you, Our Clarity!"
The guards saluted and bowed to the Sapphire and began running down the hall that Ruby pointed towards. Sapphire turned to watch them run away then turned back to Ruby, who stood there breathing heavily.
"I'm sorry my Sapphire! I-I didn't mean to break like that! I need to be shattered immediately-"
"No!"
Their faces flustered.
"You're a genius... I-I would've never thought of that."
"Ahaha... I-it was nothing!"
Sapphire smiled Ruby returned the gesture. But before Ruby could make a move, Sapphire turned back down the hall that Pink had ran down, she lifted herself off the floor slightly before facing Ruby.
"Let's go, We need to be quick or we'll get caught."
Ruby nodded smiling weakly. Sapphire grabbed Ruby's hand and pulled her down the hall at amazing speeds.
Be quick, huh?
They rushed down the halls passing gems along the way, before finding themselves at the door with Pink and the others.
"Finally! You've made it, for a second I thought they caught you...."

"Now, since the Diamonds will kill us on sight I need you 2 to follow my plan exactly how I tell you, understand?"
