Part 11 struggle

  -Anaya-

 The day flew by as we trained, he didn't go easy even when he knew I was hurt, I mean I guess that's how he was probably got named General hardass. "Step up your game Soldier!" I sighed "I know. Sir." he looked at me, unimpressed. I took a drink and sat "To much?" I shook my head no as he offered me his hand, I took it and he pulled me back to my feet "Come on Anaya. You have to train harder." I swung my foot under his knocking him down, then laying my hand by his throat "You were saying?" he smiled and said "Maybe being slow is your advantage." I got up and sighed "not slow. Just hurt." he looked like he was going to laugh but he stood up and looked me up and down as he usually did. I didn't mind much I was used to it though a lot of people do it. Hours later I barely stayed on my feet in training, he was going harder than ever. I bent under a kick and jumped backwards so I didn't break a bone, he was relaxing some when I was getting better. Ray came in and gave me a worried glance then walked to the General said some things then they looked at me, I was generally confused.

-Ray-

Having heard Anaya was training for over four hours I was worried about her. She worked hard and as fast as she could. I found out after a few days that my child was inside her, I was worried for that child. I was walking through the halls when I heard something in the training room hit the ground pretty hard. I walked in there to see Anaya on her feet and the General panting. I looked at Anaya, then walked to the General and whispered "Don't be too hard on her. But the captain told me to tell you that he may know when their next attack is, and they'll be coming for her." The general looked up at her as did I. I was told to leave and I did as told. Walking to the doctors room to ask how the baby was he was panicked, I said "What's wrong?" He looked at me with wide eyes and said her pregnancy is evolving faster than any other, she's what seems to be five months in but has hardly gained weight. I looked at him "five? It's only been 2" that's when he looked at me "I know, tha baby is developing quickly and she needs to have it removed soon." I was shocked to hear it.

-Anaya-

Dodging yet another kick to the ribs I stumbled backward, the general catching me behind my waist. "Thank you" He nodded and looked me in the eyes, not letting me go. His lips pressed into mine, I knew kissing back would be bad, because I loved Ray. Ray was my only love. But I still kissed him back. Slowly I pulled away from the kiss and looked at him in shock, he seemed just as shocked as I felt. He cleared his throat and walked out "Stay." five minutes later the lights shut off and I heard someone coming close to my back, felt a hand over my eyes and heard a whisper, Ray's. "Guess who" I smiled, turned around and kissed him, he didn't hesitate to kiss me back and pick me up, deepening the kiss before letting go and the lights turning back on, I smiled and him as he smiled back "The general wants to watch me and you train together. You ready?" I nodded. Swinging my foot under his to knock him down but he was faster to push me back, making me lose my balance and almost fall, so I did a backbend flip and landed it. He smiled as the training went on and on as I landed a few blows on Ray, either way he still won. That was it, I felt a ripping pain in my stomach that made me scream, both Ray and the general ran to me, I couldn't breathe it felt like something was ripping me apart from the inside out I heard Ray's voice but couldn't tell what he said as I felt him running the world went pitch black.

-Ray-

Reaching the doctor's office I pounded on his door, he opened and let me lay Anaya down "How's the baby?" The general looked up and said "she's pregnant?" I nodded as the doctor pushed us out the room and asked me "If it comes down to it, will you let the baby die, or her.?" I looked at the general and he was pale. "The baby, I won't lose An" he nodded and disappear into the room again. As soon as he did the general looked at me and said "You have some explaining to do Ray." I was weirded out, he never called me by my name. I explained everything that I could to him and he looked unpleasant but I kept going. "So, the gist of it is that you got her pregnant but the baby grew abnormally and Anaya didn't gain any weight or anything, and you never told her leading the an unfortunate event?" I nodded "yes sir." he sighed "Ray, I thought you were smarter than that." I looked at the door "I know sir." he patted my back just as we started to hear a baby cry...I was terrified to know what that meant. Had An died? The General walked away writing down everything and the doctor came out. He let me in and led me to An and the child, she was alive but the child was deadly ill. I knew it would kill her to know her first child died but I had to keep her alive. I love Anaya and I loved what was meant to be ours, but that was not a human child, there was nothing human in it. It was solid blue and its eyes were black. "What the hell is that?" The doctor explained that Anaya must have been experimented on while we were fighting, she had no more abnormal cells in her bloodstream so this child wasn't even mine. I grabbed a scalpel and stabbed it's throat. After all was said and done I had taken her to her room and made sure she was alright and stayed with her. I had been asked questions by both the general and the captain, explaining everything that happened to An.
