They all returned to the house well fed and pleasantly tired out. They sat on the sofas for a bit discussing some of the more impressive moves and blocks in the game.
Renesmee's yawn sparked off the talk of sleep, it was half ten, so not late by any standards, but she felt dead on her feet.
She desperately wanted Jacob to stay over, she still didn't like having him out of her sight. She had been trying to keep a reasonable distance away from him since he'd returned from patrol, it felt so unnatural, she felt more uncomfortable trying to keep away from him. But anytime she touched him for a second she got a smug look from either Jasper or Emmett, so quickly moved away. So she knew the looks she would get if she asked for Jacob to stay over.
Her Dad must have taken pity on her after reading her thoughts, as he turned to Bella and asked.
"It's alright if Jacob stays over again tonight isn't it?" Her Mum looked like she wanted to say no, but instead responded,
"Yea, that's fine. I'll make up the bed in the spare room."
"Oh come on Bells, I've always been fine to stay in Nessie's room. Can't I do the same again tonight?" Jacob asked.
"What and find you rolling over the floor again in the morning?" she said.
The others giggled, Renesmee couldn't help but join in with them as she shared a guilty look with Jacob.
"No, it's not your house, I should get some say in who I let sleep in my daughter's bedroom."
"It's perhaps for the best, you'll probably get a better night's sleep this way," Edward contributed, with a glance in Renesmee's direction. Jacob looked between the two of them with a puzzled expression, but didn't say anything.
"Ok, I'll respect your rules, I'll sleep in the spare room," Jacob conceded glumly.
She and Jacob said their goodnights to the others and went upstairs. They both got washed and ready separately. When she returned to her room, she found Jacob lying on her bed. She quickly shut the door behind her so the others wouldn't be able to hear them.
"What do you think you are doing in here? Have you got some sort of death wish with my Mum?" she asked him, as she made her way over to lay next to him.
"It's worth it," he said turning to face her and reaching an arm around her, pulling her closer to him, "I thought I'd never get you alone."
"I know," she replied, as she also put her arm around him. "They make me feel like I'm doing something wrong, but all I want to do is be close to you like this,'' she said whilst her hands started roaming free on his back.
"Exactly, it's all perfectly innocent," he said, although he looked a little distracted as he said it.
"It would only be if I didn't something like this," she said and grabbed his bum quickly then let go, "that I might be in more trouble."
He returned a slightly shocked look back at her then gave her a cheeky grin.
"Yes I completely agree. It would be the same as if I suddenly did this."
He slid his hand which was resting on her back, under her top and up her bare back, pulling her to him so their bodies met. He leant in and kissed area just below her collarbone, then moved to her shoulder and up her neck dramatically. She had to bite her lip to prevent any involuntary sounds escaping her.
He stopped kissing her neck and looked at her in the face. She was pleased to see he was breathing equally as heavily. She struggled to quickly come to senses and knew she had a few moments of gormlessness before she recovered enough to speak. Even then she sounded out of breath.
