Sixty - Survival

Everything seemed to erupt, she saw Artimus lunge towards her, at the same time she saw the rest of the vampires head towards the others. She could not let that happen, Jacob had left her one task and that was to keep the wolves partners safe, she would not let him down on that.

As Artimus headed towards her she planned a way to repel him quickly in order for her to focus on the other vampire onslaught. She was surprised when Alice swept in from the side and engaged in battle with him. Renesmee was very thankful and quickly started battling with the other vamps.

She got into a routine of keeping them away, mostly by knocking them back in the room and into other vampires if possible, as this would keep them all down for a bit. She picked up a few and managed to hurtle them through the windows on the other side of the room.

She ducked and dived to avoid any contact, then quickly counterattacked. She was feeling extremely strong still and very pleased with how the fight was going, she never expected to hold this amount of vampires at bay.

The vampires got smart to her defence structure however, and instead of coming one at a time as previously, three of them came at once. She acted quickly and bridged the gap, managing to knock back two of the vampires, but one slipped past her.

She looked on in horror as the vampire went straight up to Rachel, grabbed her head back ready to sink his fangs into her. Renesmee bolted towards the vampire, but before she got anywhere close, he was thrust forcefully backwards and smashed into the wall, carving a huge hole out of it in the process.

Everyone in the room became momentarily distracted by the turn of events. What on Earth had caused that to happen?

Renesmee looked over at Rachel who looked equally surprised but greatly relieved at the same time, Ness noticed something glimmering around Rachel's neck. She studied it more closely and realised it was the old family heirloom necklace that Rachel had worn at Harriet's party. Rachel saw her looking and followed her gaze downwards where she stopped and touched the necklace thoughtfully. They both didn't have long before another wave of vamps headed towards them. Renesmee knocked them back as much as possible.

Alice was still in a fight with Artimus, managing to avoid his advances by using her psychic powers. She also helped out Renesmee in between, where possible.
She was engaged in a battle when she noticed the vampire who had been expelled into the wall, by Rachel, starting to extract himself. She moved over to ensure she could protect the group from him this time, she was blocked by Rachel however.
Rachel had been saved once by the necklace but Renesmee had no faith it would work again, old powerful magic like that was generally not very reliable.
Rachel seemed so confident, she strolled up to the vampire in the wall, Renesmee didn't know what to do for the best should she run in and stop her? Or did Rachel know something she didn't? Again it seemed as if the whole room was fascinated by the strange turn of events as they stopped to watch.
By the looks of it the other vampires shared Renesmee's thoughts that the necklace could not produce the same power again on demand, they were watching with broad grins at Rachel's foolish daring.
Renesmee couldn't stand by and watch any longer, she dashed towards Rachel to stop her. The other vampires clearly didn't want Renesmee to stop their entertainment, they lunged at her, she had no defence after she batted four of the vampires away and was side swiped and pinned to the floor by one of the female vampires.
On the floor, Renesmee and the female vampire both looked on as Rachel reached out to the vampire in the wall, he was looking at her with a great deal of intrigue, but more worryingly, was the look of hunger in his eyes. Before Rachel could do anything, the Vampire lunged towards her, Rachel took a step back in shock.
Renesmee expected to see Rachel fall to the floor from the impact, but instead she surprisingly saw the vampire being pushed away to the far side of the room. Okay thought Renesmee, perhaps this necklace does possess more power than she'd originally assumed. The other vampires certainly agreed and now sensing the new threat came after Rachel. She held her own and instantly became another useful hand in the fight.
