Taken (TordEdd) [Book 2 of Wanted]

Chapter 23

Edd woke up with Tord cuddling him to his chest. He was still in the medical bed with his lover, looking around. "Mmm... Tord?"

Tord opened his eyes. "Yeah..?"

"Is Ellody alright..?"

Tord shrugged and let go of Edd. "Let's go see, hmm?"

Edd nodded, scooting off the bed with a small groan. He felt heavy, the weight from his belly making him stagger slightly as he stood. Tord was right beside him, helping him stand. "Want me to carry you?" he asked.

Edd shrugged. "I don't mind either way," he said honestly.

Tord nodded, scooping Edd up in his arms. He walked out of the room and headed to the other room where Ellody was in. He entered the room quietly, seeing his daughter laying in bed, machines hooked up to her, an IV bag hanging from above her. He approached the side of the bed, Edd gasping quietly at the sight of his baby. Tord glanced at the brunette, seeing tears well up in his lover's eyes. "Shh," he whispered. "Look, she's breathing. She's okay." 

Edd nodded, gazing at his daughter. It was true. Ellody's chest was rising and falling evenly, the heartbeat monitor hooked next to her bed beeping a normal beat. He was relieved, happy his daughter was doing better. He slipped out of Tord's arms, kneeling beside the bed and petting Ellody's head carefully. "Hey, baby," he whispered. "Daddy and I are here. Can you hear me?"

Ellody let out a small whine, her eyes fluttering open. "Mom..?"

Edd smiled, Tord chuckling softly. "Hey, sweetie," Edd said. "How do you feel?"

"Tired..." Ellody replied, gazing at her mother with distant eyes. "You?"

Edd purred softly, cupping Ellody's cheek. "I'm fine, dear. The doctors fixed you up well. How does your wound feel?"

"Numb..."

Edd nodded. "That's normal, love. Dr. Adams will prescribe you some pain medication, okay?"

Ellody nodded in return, falling quiet. Her head rolled to the side and she closed her eyes, slipping into sleep. Edd slowly pulled his hand away, sighing softly. "I'm just glad she's okay," he whispered.

Tord nodded, laying his hands on Edd's shoulders. "Me, too." 

Edd smiled softly, looking at Tord. "Let's check on her tomorrow morning. Let her rest," he said.

Tord nodded. "Alright. Still need help getting up?"

"I think I'm okay," Edd said with a shrug, standing up with a small wobble. "See? I'm all good."

Tord chuckled and shook his head, scooping Edd up in his arms once again. "No, you're not," he said softly, pecking Edd's cheek. "You're lying. And besides, even if you aren't, I still like picking you up."

Edd giggled but said nothing, rolling his eyes playfully. 

Tord took Edd back to their bedroom where they could sleep peacefully, knowing their daughter was going to make it through the night. She was safe in the hands of Dr. Adams.

   Hey, guys! Samuel the Samurai here. Anyways, the next chapter will involve a time skip to a month or two from the current setting right now. I will warn you, Edd will be giving birth to the baby boy in the next chapter, then I'm thinking of writing an epilogue, and ending the story. Thank you all so much for the views, votes, funny comments, and love you have given this book. I will make a third one and I believe that may be the last one for this series. If not, then the forth book definitely will. It just depends on how slow the chapters progress. But, again, thank you all so much!

--Update! 10/17/2019--
   So I've decided to end this book and then the series. Sorry, but there isn't much left to continue with during this series. It's a possible no, but I'm unsure. I just...hmm, I guess it's mostly the lack of idea and formation into the plot. But, I will make sure to make the last two chapters awesome. :)

   Please note that I'm unsure if I will actually continue this series in a third book. If I don't, I'm sorry. Just please understand that not much more can really be added to the plot of these books. I understand how much you guys make enjoy this, but I just don't have the right amount of effort and time to think of new ideas and problems that could possibly happen in the future. Carla's army is defeated and Edd and Tord are back together. There truly isn't much left to add to this situation.
