While Tord was away and tending with the soldiers he would give new jobs to, Edd was up and in the kitchen, fully dressed and cooking breakfast. He decided to make some bacon, eggs, and french toast. He poured Ellody a glass of orange juice and set it on the table, turning around as he heard his daughter walk in.

"Good morning," he purred, gazing at her.

"Mornin', mamma," Ellody replied tiredly, yawning and stretching her arms.

"Did you sleep well?" Edd asked.

Ellody nodded. "Mhm," she hummed. "Just not the morning person."

Edd chuckled. "I know, baby," he replied. "But, you'll have to get used to it. You're father will be training you when you're six-teen or eight-teen."

"Really?" Ellody asked, furrowing a brow.

Edd smiled. "Yup," he purred. "Your father is going to train you on to become a strong individual and to defend yourself from enemies. Just like he did for me."

Ellody squealed. "Wow!" she exclaimed. "That's awesome! Where is daddy now?"

"He's with his pilots, trying to find new jobs for the soldiers from Area 4 that tend to cause a lot of problems," Edd answered, smiling softly and putting the scrambled eggs on two plates. He waited for the bacon to cook and the toast to finish so he can pour syrup on it.

Ellody nodded, a bit saddened. "How long will he be gone for?" she wondered.

Edd shrugged. "I don't know, darling," he said. "I think, maybe, for a few hours. There are a lot of soldiers over there that like to cause trouble."

"Oh," Ellody whispered, folding her hands together and sitting at the table. "Will any of them hurt daddy?"

"Oh, they can try," Edd said. "If anyone messed with daddy, that'll be the day. He's the most feared man in the world."

"Then why do the soldiers around here act like he's nobody?" Ellody asked.

Edd went silent for a moment. He stared at the bacon as it sizzled. "That's not true," he said plainly. "Simple."

Ellody nodded slowly, drumming her fingers on the table. She gazed over at her mother, seeing he was immensely still and quiet. "Mother?" she asked.

Edd jumped slightly, turning his head and looking at Ellody. "Yes?" he wondered, pouring the bacon onto the two plates, next to the scrambled eggs.

Ellody gave her mother a smile. "Your cooking will always be better then dad's."

Edd smirked, carrying the two plates to the table once he finished with making the french toast and both plates were set. "Is that so?" he wondered.

Ellody nodded. "Yeah. You must have payed more attention in cooking class then he did."

"Oh, dear," Edd said with a chuckle. "I guess that is true. But, we must keep that a secret. Daddy must never know."

Ellody nodded, smothering her giggles and looking at her food as Edd set her plate down. "Now I will enjoy this delicious breakfast my mother has served for me!"

Edd smiled, ruffling Ellody's hair and sitting down next to her. "Then enjoy," he purred.
