Kirishima sat in his room, waiting...
and waiting.
Bakugou had been taking longer than he thought, anxiety creeping up his back, telling himself that his boyfriend hated him now because he broke the promise. He felt tears roll down his face as he pulled his phone back out and tried the number again.
...ring~
....ring~
.....ring~
"You have reached an automated voice messaging system-" Kirishima hung up before he had to hear that whole message again. Fear was slowly clouding him, as he sat worried something bad had happened.
Kirishima let out a choked sob, wiping his eyes in attempt of telling himself he was fine. "Fuck... please answer me." He cried again, waiting for a call back. He sat on his bed, staying there for a long moment, not sure what to do.
As tears fell from Kirishima's eyes onto the mattress below him, silently drifting off to sleep in an upward position, something grabbed his attention, awaking him. A soft tune from below him; he instantly recognized it as his ringtone.
He grabbed his phone and hit the answer button without reading who had called him.
He spoke out before the person on the other line could speak, "Bakugou?" It came out as a cry; it was obvious he had been crying, not to mention fearful. At first it was silent, before a recognizable voice called out from the device, "Kirishima? You good?"
More tears fell out of kirishima's eyes at the sound of the voice. He felt inclined to ask for help, he wanted his friend to know what was going on: why he was so broken down.
"Oh- hey Kaminari. Uh- could you.... nevermind, uh, yeah, I'm fine, just a bit under the weather." He said with a soft chuckle."Oh... want me to come over? We could play some video games or something."
Yes.
"No, thanks though." He said through the phone, trying to catch a happy tone."Oh alright, well I called because the group and I wanted to go to that new festival that just opened. Want to come?"
"Is Bakugou going with you?"
"He hasn't answered our calls. We wondered if you could ask him to come. "
"He hasn't answered me either. A few hours ago-" he paused, trying to hold back another round of tears. "A few hours ago he said he was coming over... but he hasn't.""Do you think he might've been hurt or something?"
"I hadn't thought of that... god I hope he's okay."
Kaminari let out a soft hum to show his sympathy, "do you have his mom's number?"
"Uh... yeah, why?"
"Can't you call her and ask about Bakugou?"
Kirishima stayed silent, dumbfounded by how oblivious he had been to the solutions.
"I guess I hadn't thought of that..." Kirishima admitted, "alright, I'll get in touch with his mom and call you back."Kaminari spoke almost immediately after, "sounds good, see you, br-!" The last word was cut off by a small beep, indicating the end of the call.
Kirishima stifled a chuckle of laughter, pulling his phone from his ear and scrolling through his contacts, until he found one titled "Baku mom" and tapped on it.
He awaited a response, which came almost immediately.
"Hello?" The familiar voice called from the end of the line."Hello, Mrs. Bakugou?" Kirishima asked, which caused a laugh to come from the other end.
"Kirishima! It's good to hear from you, how are you?" She asked, but Kirishima knew he couldn't give an honest answer without worrying his boyfriend's mother.
"I'm fine, is Katsuki there? He isn't answering his phone," kirishima said, his worry showing.
"He left the house a few hours ago, I thought he was over at your place.
"He said he was coming over, but he hasn't shown up," the red-head spoke with fear lacing his voice, "could you try calling him?"
"Yeah, I'll get back to you, alright?" She spoke softly almost as though she was trying hard to not upset kirishima.
Kirishima nodded, before realizing how ineffective that'd be, "Yeah, sounds good," he tried to indicate he'd be pleased with that, but his voice failed to cooperate, "thank you-" he quickly added before the call ended.
He sat on his bed anxiously, worried he wouldn't get a returned call either.
After nearly twenty minutes, when kirishima was on the brink of caving in, he heard his phone ring.He immediately answered, seemingly impatiently asking, "Hello?"
"Hey Kirishima," Mitsuki called from the other end, seemingly in distraught.
"Is Bakugou okay?"
"When I was trying to call him I... got a call from the hospital. They said they were sorry for taking so long to get to me, but... Katsuki was hit."
"Hit?" Kirishima asked out of sheer panic.
"He was on his bike and got hit by a car..." Mitsuki said softly, her voice sounding as if she was on the brink of tears, "He hasn't woken up yet."
Kirishima say in silence, tears running down his cheeks. Its my fault... if I hadn't asked bakugou to come over, he wouldn't have been hit.
"Kirishima?" Mitsuki's voice called again.
"Um... am I allowed to see him?" Kirishima asked, begging for the answer he wanted.
"I can get you permission. Just..." she sighed, "I dont know how long it will take, though."
Kirishima sat still, silent. I don't deserve to see him. I put him there. I should have to deal with the consequences.
"They're about to let me in, I'll let you go, okay?"
"Okay-" kirishima choked out, scared for his friend. I don't deserve to call him mine.
With that, the call ended, and Kirishima was left in his room alone once more.
[A/N hey, I know this took way too long to come out, and not much happened in this chapter, but I wasn't sure where i wanted to take it without it being too long. So- this chapter is pretty much just a filler. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter.]
