Heavy breathing was followed by a loud scream of pain.
"My lady, breathe!"
"It's okay.. You're going to be okay."
Voices filled with concern echoed the room.
"Relis..." Queen Naois said to a maid next to her. It was his last name.
She wondered why the queen was being so formal at a time like this.
" Tell..-him I...love-" Before she could finish her farewell, her hand drops and the cry of a baby was heard.
"Queen Naois!..My lady!! No..you can't.." The color had washed away from her face and her hands became cold.
As one of the servants held onto the red haired infant as the others silently cried. The woman suddenly screeches in pain. Her fingers were on the floor. Each one cut clean.
"AHH!!!!!" She yells as the sliced off fingers were followed by deep slashes on her arm and eventually she was strangled by a dark shadow emitting from the baby.
People around her panicked and took the infant away from her.
"Monster! Mon-..." The maid's head had been no longer connected to her body, and the woman lay on the floor in her own blood.
The servants immediately held the child close to them, away from whatever they thought was dangerous. Not knowing that their lives would soon end in less then a second.
Sena stood there watching the monstrosity of the thing that came out of the woman's womb. Her breath stalled, she was frozen in fear and shock.
The dark figureless shadows shrouded the baby in thick black fog and travelled throughout the palace, ripping the flesh of everything and anything. The thirst for death was not yet extinguished.
Several men and women pounding on the palace doors. Sena didn't know which was louder. Whether it was her heart almost beating out of her chest or whether the noise of the people breaking the door down. Footsteps burst into a room with large pillars of symbols Sena saw on her markings.
"Take any living humans out of here! We need to seal her powers immediately!!!" The leader of the group yells. A man with bright blue hair and red tattoos under his eyes struggled to hold the small baby. He wrapped it in a blanket and placed it on the ground as his followers began drawing magic circles. The circles layered each other the a pattern and glowed brightly, irritating the baby's vision and making it cry, yet the entity from within had roared with passion for more destruction. A man suddenly gets hurled against walls with blooding running down his forehead.
"Hurry Traus, we don't have time for a break! Get your ass together!" The bright haired leader yelled to the bloody man as he was back on his feet.
Sena watched as they seemed to settle down into each position of the circle. One individual begins to chant loudly and the others joined in. Eventually the darkness succumbed within the baby and the markings were pulsing with flares around the baby. The group known as the Thirteen Counselors had finished their duties. Many had their life drained from the creature's immense powers while several had survived, barely.
"Now let's-"
"Kill the demons!!!" shouted Strylis' warriors who arrived from a faraway travel along with King Aspen the first. They were suddenly halted by a single glance from the King.
"Where is my wife?! Where is Naois?" King Aspen asked the blue haired man.
"Our queen.. has passed."
King Aspen stood in disbelief. "No... NO! It can't be.." He shouts. The King then rushes to her bedroom. His eyes dilate as he saw his beautiful wife's face growing paler than the snow that soon began to fall. Her breathing was no longer heard and every touch and words that he spoke had no longer reached her.
Sena watched with tears. The dull constant pain within her, clogging her throat and impeding every step that she tried to approach them. She felt weak. What could she do?
The time had sped up in the world she was in. It was already months after the death but King Aspen was still mourning his wife. Her tomb was placed deep down in the dungeons. He had refused to do anything but sat there beside his wife. And because of that, he too, had died. A disgraceful and scandalous death in the Palace of Strylis as its first King. The crown was then passed on to his brother Aviur who became a tyrant-like ruler. Strict with anything political and confident in destroying anyone that interferes with his position. During the time King Aviur had led a great war that had occurred between Strylis and Night-Wald. The lives of 300 million people were lost. The war was officially ended after Night-Wald surrendered from the disadvantages of the human environment and the sacrifices. The series of battles between the nightly creatures were not easily forgotten. Some often told the stories of the heroic warriors that fought them while others still stifle from the emotions of the scars that were left behind.
With the new king, in Strylis, Sena was cast aside in the palace and soon everyone eventually agreed on the banishment of the girl. A woman gladly took her out of the King's hand when she found Sena living in the street. What Sena didn't know was that the woman was a human that had spiritual powers. She was a woman who made dolls out of innocent humans and devours their souls to absorb their remaining lifespan and gain immortality.
Sena was assisted inside a carriage by one of the the woman's servant.
"What a beautiful child.." The woman said as her hands caressed the red-haired girl. The woman's fingers traced the girl's eyebrows, the bridge of her nose and smiled delightfully. "What do you call yourself?"
"Sena.." The little girl responded.
" I am Freiya.." The woman then heaves a sigh. "What beautiful eyes you have.. You just might do.." She muttered with a smirk.
After comfortably living with Freiya, Sena was happy. She felt like she had a mother. However, their days did not last after the woman calls Sena into her room.
"Your room is so magical!" The little girl said in awe as she saw littles orbs of blue light floating in the air.
The woman laughed. "Come here, Sena." The little girl walks forward without hesitation. "Listen carefully... I am going to die soon.." Freiya said with a frown.
Sena stared at her in shock. "You can't!"
"I will have to leave you here all alone.." She continues. "But.. there is a way you can save me, lovely child."
"What is it?"
"If you lend me your soul, we can be together forever.." She says with a devious grin that shaken the atmosphere. With that she taps one of her canes covered in bones, faint drawings of symbols on the floor rose and shined so brightly that the light in the house pierced through the thick forest and reached the night sky. For years the child was preserved in the room, lifeless. Her body lying on the cold wooden floor and her eyes closed with a peaceful face. Almost as though she was dead. Sena stood and watched her younger self in that position for what seems like mere seconds to her was more than a century to the little girl.
Sena's vision then alters back to a more modern time, to the time where she met Cyril. Sena turns around to see a younger looking man with same nostalgic actions and facial expressions as Cyril.
"What on earth?..."He mumbles as he walks closer to the little child. Slowly he tries to move the child but she was bound to the ground, the light from the patterns glowed brighter and even inflicted pain on him. Cyril tried erasing the symbols on the ground but it was carved into the ground, he stomps onto the eradicated floor and the lights faded into the ground. Several pillars that were around Sena were also disabled. Quickly, Cyril picked the child up and ran outside and into town.
A ghastly cry of dismal and abhorrence was vocalized in the shabby building.
