When we met(a zalfie fanfic)

We stood outside a cute little restaurant, there were fairy lights arranged around the windows and all of the furniture was painted in pastel colours. It looked so beautiful, how did Alfie manage to find this place, it was literally like my personality put into a restaurant. We stepped inside, he held the door open for me. The waitress led us to a table that was right in the corner next to the window. Alfie pulled out one of the chairs for me and i sat down. He then sat opposite me, the fairy lights making his face glow, he looked even more handsome than before. I opened the menu to see a whole section just for pizza, this was my new favourite place. I ordered a margarita pizza and Alfie ordered burger and chips. The waitress took our menus and walked away, leaving us alone to talk.

"Zo can i ask you a question?"

"You just did"

"Hey don't get cheeky with me"

"Ok you can ask me a question"

"What are we Zoe?"

"I-i don't know Alf"

"Well in that case, I have another question for you"

"Ok" i was getting really nervous now.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" i lifted my hand to cover my mouth.

"Oh my god Alf, of course i will"

I couldn't believe it, i couldn't believe Alfie was mine. I was starting to lose hope of us ever being together, i thought we were going down the friend zone route. Luckily we didn't. Our food arrived a couple of minutes later but i could barely eat because i just couldn't stop smiling. Nothing got in the way of me and pizza though so i managed to eat it all. Alfie ate all of his burger and chips as well. This 'date' was really going great, i didn't want it to end but of course it had to at some point. We were both too full for dessert so i knew it was possibly almost time to say goodbye.

"Do you want to go for a walk along the beach?" he asked.

"Oh Mr Deyes how romantic"

"Well ya know, i try my best"

I giggled a little and then stood up. Me and Alfie walked out of that amazing restaurant hand in hand. His hand was so much bigger than mine, i liked that, it made me feel safe. It was dark outside; every shop was now illuminated like a million tiny candles, the cobbled street glistened as the street lamps reflected off the small droplets of rain.

We made it to the beach 10 minutes later. We walked down the steps and started to stroll along the pebbles, this was so romantic. We didn't talk, we didn't say anything, somehow we just didn't have to. There wasn't a single sense of awkwardness between us, it was just so nice to be in his company.

It was a lot later now and we were making our way back to my apartment. We walked so far, i couldn't believe how far we had actually gone. After another half an hour of walking we finally made it back to my apartment.

"Well i guess i should be going" Alfie said.

"Aww aren't you going to stay over?"

"No i really can't Zo, i haven't slept in my own apartment in 3 nights"

"Ok then, i guess i should go inside now, it's getting cold" i started to open the door.

"Not until i do this..."

Alfie grabbed by waist and kissed me softly, it was amazing sparks flew all around us. I felt like a teenager again, kissing a boy on my door step because i couldn't do it in front of my dad or my brother. They were really protective over me.

"Good night little one" he smiled.

"Good night Alf" i smiled back walking inside and closing the door behind me.
