I woke up that morning, determined to get Zoe back. I texted Zoe straight away.

A: hey, we need to talk, Starbucks at 12? xxx

I really hoped she agreed to meet up with me, we really did need to talk. She needed to hear the truth from me, she needed to know it wasn't my fault and most of all she needed to know that i still loved her.

I stared at my phone for the next half an hour but i didn't get a reply. I lost all hope of us ever getting back together. That one day we were officially together was the best day of my life but now i had to get over her and focus on living my life.

I hauled myself out of bed and found the motivation to make myself breakfast. I got out all the ingredients out of my cupboard and started to make pancakes. Half way through my phone beeped. I rushed across the kitchen and grabbed my phone. I had a text message from Zoe.

Z: sure see you there xxxx

Thank god she wanted to see me. A sudden excitement came over me. I started running around the house looking for the perfect outfit to wear. Just as i reached the top of the stairs i heard the sound of an alarm. I ran as fast as i could into the kitchen and realised my pancake was burning. I turned off the heat and went straight back upstairs. I didn't care that my kitchen was filled with smoke, nothing could ruin my mood.

I jumped in the shower and washed as fast as i could. I got out soon after and dried myself before putting on my outfit. This outfit just happened to be Zoe's favourite. I wore a grey top with a checkered shirt over the top. I left the shirt unbuttoned and paired it with my black skinny jeans.

I walked back down the stairs and grabbed my phone off of the side. I looked at the time and saw it was 11.30. I sat down on my sofa and decided to check my twitter before i had to leave. The minutes ticked by slowly, so slowly that it felt like i was sat there for hours. It got to 11:45 and i couldn't wait any longer so i pulled on my converse, grabbed my jacket and walked out the door.

I arrived at Starbucks 5 minutes early so i sat at a table in the corner and pulled out my phone. The bell above the door rang, i looked up to see her face, she looked even more beautiful than before. I smiled and waved at her when she looked my way. She walked over and sat down, she kept a straight face the whole time. A waitress walked over and we both ordered hot chocolates, they came a few minutes later. The silence was starting to get awkward so i decided to make the first move.

"Im so sorry Zo," she kept her head low and didn't even acknowledge me "it wasn't me who sent that text, it was Marcus, he was jealous"

"Jealous?" She murmured still not looking up.

"Yeah, he said he was jealous of me spending so much time with you. Do you forgive me"

"I forgive you Alfie"

"Oh thank you so much, does this mean were back together?"

"No, i don't know if i can trust you again Alfie"

"But i love you Zoe"

"I know, i love you too but this is just all too confusing"

She put her head in her hands and started to sob. I got up from my seat and walked around the table, kneeling next to her. I wrapped my arms around her small frame. She rested her head on my shoulder and put her arms around my neck. I felt so sorry for her, i never meant to upset her. It broke my heart knowing that i had caused this. After what felt like forever her sobs slowed down, i keep hold of her and whispered in her ear

"Friends?"

She lifted her head and kissed my cheek, warmth filled my body. I took that as a yes.

"Do you want to go for a walk?"

"Yeah"

We finished our drinks and walked out leaving money on the table to pay for them.
