Alex knew he was going to regret his decision the minute it happened. But he had been so hyped that morning and had woken up thinking what he was going to do was going to be a good a idea. A brilliant one. It wasn't and he ended up with a blue eye and a busted lip. He'd gotten one hit in but it only resulted in making everything worse.

Grumbling as he held the ice pack to his lips and one to his eyes, Alex glanced up through the hard water to see Carter sitting at the principals office. Her legs were swinging underneath her as she explained what had happened this morning and he felt his heart clench. She was on the verge of tears.

Alex sighed, he really hated himself for waking up with that stupid idea....

Rolling over in bed, Alex groaned, tossing over in bed when he felt the light coming from his window burn his eyes. Blinking rapidly, Alex slowly started to sit up, a dream flashing quickly beneath his eyelids before it was gone. But he'd seen enough of the dream to have him smiling, before he fell back onto the bed and squealed. Flopping around on the bed like a fish and he didn't stop until his father took a hold of his ankles and ripped him out of bed.

Alex groaned at the pain that followed but smiled up at Paul when he saw his father's confused expression. "I don't know what's got you so excited but I have to go to Nolan's place in twenty so get your ass dressed."

Alex immediately jumped to his feet, running past his father towards the bathroom. Silently cheering that one of his brother's wasn't in there before him.

Washing him quickly, Alex jumped from the shower, dried off before pulling on a pair of boxers as he existed the bathroom. He ignored his brother who slapped him hard on the back for taking long and ran towards his bedroom. He could hear Paul shouting out that he had ten minutes left and he panicked.

Grabbing deodorant, that he probably didn't even need at this age, he smeared it under his arms before chucking it down the hallway towards his older brother who was grumbling that he misplaced his. Tugging on one of his pink sweaters, Alex glanced down at it for a few seconds, it was Carter's favourite colour. Picking up a bottle of spray, he buried himself in the scent.

"Five more minutes!"

Alex's eyes widened and he quickly pulled on the pair of jeans that were on the floor before rushing over to his bed. He ruffled out the wrinkles before shutting the door so his mother wouldn't see the mess his bedroom was. Running downstairs, Alex kissed his mother goodbye before grabbing an apple from the table and sprinting towards the car where his brothers and father were filling into.

After dropping off his older brothers at high school, Alex settled into the passenger seat of the car and turned to his father when Paul turned down the music and cleared his throat. "So...what was this morning about?"

Alex smirked, shaking his head, "Nothing."

Paul rose an eyebrow, "Nothing? That was definitely not nothing. You have a crush?"

Alex flushed and slowly nodded his head, raising his head to look up at his father who had a big smile across his face, "Really? What's her name?"

Alex tugged at his lip nervously, "You know her already."

Alex watched carefully for his father's expression, watching as his smile faltered and his eyes widened, "Carter?"

Alex slowly nodded, sweating in his seat as he waited for Paul to say something, "Well, that's ...unfortunate."

Alex frowned, offended by his father' answer, "What do you mean by unfortunate?"

Paul sighed, "Son, I don't want to hurt you but I'm sure you know how close Miles and Carter are. I just...I don't think admitting you like Carter is such a good idea."
