Miles quickly picked up his pens and pencils, trying to get all his things into his backpack. He shut his laptop, tucked it into the bag along with the hand written notes he'd taken down during his lecture. When he was done, he threw the bag over his shoulder before rushing down the stairs between the rows of desks in the auditorium. He's professor had just dismissed his class and Miles couldn't wait get out of here. Especially since he knew Carter was waiting for him at home. Nolan was coming over and the couple was going to inform the protective father that she was moving in with him.
Miles stomach clenched with butterflies, Carter was going to be with him everyday. He was going to wake up to her, fall asleep to her face and it made him extremely over joyed.
Luckily, Carter and Miles has gotten accepted into the same university since it offered both of the courses they'd wanted to study. Miles was studying to be a mechanic, though he was only doing a two year course. He never really knew what he was going to do with his degree in mechanics but he believed one day, when he could no longer model, this would benefit him.
Carter was studying business, she hoped to work along side her aunt when she was finished with modeling.
Both of them had been doing local jobs while studying and had even gained enough money to now afford the apartment floor Maggie had gotten Miles.
Miles sent a few waves to a few friends of his but didn't bother to start a conversation as he passed them on his way out of the auditorium. He still had to stop and get the take away Carter had ordered while he was still in his class. All he had to do was pick it up.
Miles felt his cell vibrate against his thigh and he silently prayed it wasn't Carter. No matter how much he loved to hear her voice, he knew she would be scolding him for being late. She worried Nolan would see her things around before they got a change to tell him. When he pulled the cell from his pocket, he smirked at the name across his screen. "Well, well. Didn't you tell me I was never going to be hearing from you again?"
"Funny, asswipe. I was drunk and I was upset that you kept giving me water instead of vodka! Now shut up, I called you because I missed your voice. You're making me regret my decision to shower you in affection."
Miles snorted, shaking his head as he stepped into the restaurant that was on his campus. He stepped in line, trying to hold back a huff of annoyance. He didn't want to be here long. "Of course you missed my voice. It's very soothing."
Alex huffed, before shaking his head on the other side of the call, though Miles couldn't see him, "So what you up to today? I'm bored."
"Dude, you're twenty. Ain't you got adult shit to do? Where's Jay?"
Alex cringed, sighing, "We're on a break." He'd wanted to the break the news to his friend in person and not over the phone. He knew Carter would have his head for telling Miles before he told her.
Miles rose an eyebrow, even though Alex couldn't see him, frowning slightly in worry. He hoped Jay and Alex weren't have problem in their relationship. Even though he was concerned, he couldn't help but muttered, "There's no such thing as breaks."
Alex huffed, not believing his friend, "Yes, there is, asshole! I'm sure you and Carter—"
"We haven't—" Miles was sure he'd die if Carter were to want a break from him. He hoped she didn't get tired of him. They'd been inseparable since they were four. How weren't they sick of each other? Miles rolled his eyes, he loved the girl to much to get tired of her.
"Well, no one has a perfect love like yours. Jay and I needed time apart. I still love him and I'm sure he loves me too. We aren't seeing each other people cause we have full intention of getting back together. I just...the distance sucks and I guess I needed time just to think, without talking to him."
