"What the actual fuck, Carter? Did you have to suck so hard? This isn't going to be the only mark on my neck once your dad sees it." Miles mumbled, panicking as he lowered Carter to her feet and moved closer to the mirror to see the hickey at the base of this neck. He raised his fingers to run over the mark before turning to Carter, who was frozen.

"I didn't even bring makeup with to cover it up." She mumbled after a while, jumping up suddenly onto her boyfriend's chest, "What are we going to do, Miles? I don't want my dad to kill you... on Christmas!"

Miles sighed, "I can wear that Christmas sweater. It's kinda like a turtle neck, it'll cover it up."

Carter grinned, "Well aren't you a genius, I could just kiss—"

Miles ducked from Carter's lips, shaking his head, "Woah, Woah, Woah. No more kisses, I might just end up with another hickey."

Carter rolled her eyes, "How are we gonna get out of here without your mom seeing us?"

"Damn, Carter. I already found a solution for my hickey and now I have to find another one for this situation. Can't you use your brain? You're supposed to be the smart one!"

Carter sighed, "Fine. I'll go out and while I'm distracting your mom, you go get the sweater."

Miles nodded, watching as Carter turned around to open the closet. He suddenly stopped her, turning her around to peck her lips before smiling, "I felt bad for blocking your kiss."

Carter smiled, rolling her eyes before exiting the closet and sliding the door softly closed behind her. She breathed out in relief when she saw Maggie's back was facing her way and slowly walked towards her. She laid her hand on Maggie's lower back and smiled sweetly up at her, "Looking for me?"

Maggie grinned, turning around to wrap her arms lovingly around Carter's shoulders, "Yes, we're about to eat. Where's Miles?"

Carter shrugged, acting confused as she turned away from Maggie, "I don't know. Probably went to empty his stomach, you know he likes having extra space for more food."

Maggie chuckled, shaking her head, "True. Go to the dining room, Nolan's waiting."

Carter sighed, shaking her head amused as she walked away from Maggie towards the dining room where Nolan was sitting at the table, grumbling. Once he spotted his daughter, he sat up, smiling, "Princess, come sit over here by me."

Seeing that there wasn't a spot open next to her for Miles, she hesitated but she didn't want Nolan to be upset so she squeezed behind chairs to settle next to her father who smiled happily. She pulled her chair in before turning to her father when he leaned her way, "I'd stay away from the chicken, Porter made it."

Carter giggled, watching as Porter sent Nolan a heated glare when he overheard what he said. "I tasted the fucking chicken! It tastes fine, Josh likes it."

Nolan snorted, "Like Josh's opinion matters. He's just like you!"

Porter rolled his eyes, "At least I made something."

Abbie smiled, reaching out to pat her husband on the head as she walked past him to put down the salad at the end of the table. Porter glanced up at his wife and grinned happily. Nolan rolled his eyes, before looking up when Miles came slowly walking into the dining room. His eyes were wide, his fingers tugging nervously at the neckline of the ugly Christmas sweater he was wearing. Lucas smiled as he saw it while Nolan, Landon, and Porter burst out laughing at the sight of him.
